Hidden Design for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight when you're not towing. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once installed, the cross tube will be completely concealed and only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. But unlike other hitches with hidden cross tubes, the Stealth goes one further. You can remove the receiver portion of the hitch for a completely out-of-sight setup. To mount the receiver, just insert it up into the access port that is built into the cross tube. Secure the receiver to the hitch with the supplied bolt and washers. When you're done towing, just remove the receiver portion to return your vehicle to its clean, factory appearance.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Everything fit and worked excellent! very good quality product. A lower price would be better.

Quality and easy to install a hitch. Etrailer sent a YouTube link to help with the installation. Easy to follow. If you have any basic tool skills it’s a piece of cake. It just takes time. Good customer service. Use the hitch for my Yakima bike rack.

I wanted a trailer hitch to haul bags of mulch, lawn waste, etc. I was looking to save by installing it myself. Well I was a little worried that I was in over my head until I watched the videos. The videos made it quite manageable for me, a person who never works on cars. The trailer hitch for my 2023 Tesla Model 3 fit perfectly and was even easier to install than the one in the video. Possibly an updated design for the hitch. 1000% pleased.

Wow! I attach my Thule bike rack or my 4 x 8 trailer to this hitch that performs beyond my expectations!

The hitch is very solid. Love that it is totally hidden when not in use. The install instructions, especially written (video was okay but left some things out), were lacking.

The Ecohitch was installed and fit great! Looks clean and fits just like the pictures. Thank you.

The instructions were not perfect but okay. Probably because this was a 2022 Tesla. I cut the removable plastic cover to fit tight around the hitch. I did not install wiring for lights since the hitch be used for a bike rack.

  • How to Diagnose Power Draw When a Wiring Harness is Installed
It sounds like there may be a bad ground somewhere. If your vehicle did not come with a factory harness, you should try connecting the ground to bare metal instead of tapping into a factory ground wire. If the ground is acting weird, it will cause all sorts of weird things to happen, including the battery being drained. If the vehicle did come with factory wiring and you are replacing it, the harness you are using may have a short in it. This would cause power draw. In this case, you would...

  • How Much Ground Clearance Will I Have With The EcoHitch Receiver # EH84GR on 2019 Tesla Model 3?
When we installed the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on a 2021 Tesla Model 3(see install video below) we found the base of the receiver sat 3" below the rear opening for the receiver access panel. You will be able to use this measurement to determine exactly how much ground clearance your 2019 Model 3 will have in the event there were any changes in vehicle height or your springs have sagged more than the one we had in our shop.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for EcoHitch Installed on 2019 Tesla Model 3 Towing 18 inch Tall Trailer
When we installed the EcoHitch part # EH84GR on a 2018 Tesla Model 3 just like your 2019 model we found that the top of the hitch opening measures 9-3/4 inches from the ground. So to tow a trailer with an 18 inch coupler height measured at the top of the ball you'd want a rise of right at 6 inches since the standard place to measure is the bottom of the coupler lip. For that we have the Curt ball mount part # C45090 which would work perfectly for this. For a hitch ball then you'd want...

  • Does EcoHitch Require Drilling When Installing On A 2018 Tesla Model 3
Yes, The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR does require drilling when installing the hitch on your 2018 Tesla Model 3. Installation requires drilling a hole in the underside of the bumper large enough for the ballmount adapter, also requires temporary removal of the bumper/fascia during installing. The underbody trim panel must be modified or trimmed if present. The Ecohitch requires drilling because it has a complete hidden look unlike the other hitches confirmed to fit...

  • Is Fascia Cutting Required When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
This is a great question. On your new 2020 Tesla Model 3, there is indeed a factory cutout/panel already present on the fascia that allows fitment for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7373. This means you won't have to cut the fascia during installation or be left with an exposed area when the receiver is removed, as this factory panel can be snapped back into place. On older models of the Model 3 this portion did need to be cut, but starting...

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver on 2020 Tesla Model 3
On your 2020 Tesla Model 3 you actually won't have to cut any fascia when installing the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR. Up through the 2018 model year, a square opening did need to be cut on the Tesla Model 3 to allow clearance for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch, however starting with the 2019 model Tesla added an integrated panel that can be easily taken off (and snapped back on) that provides the needed opening for the receiver. This allows for an easier install...

  • What Type of Lower Fascia Trimming is Required to Install Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
On the 2018 models it was true that you had to trim a hole in the lower rear fascia. However for your 2020 Tesla Model 3 to install the # EH84GR It is no longer necessary to trim it because they come with a knock out in that location so that the lower hitch opening can attach to the hitch's main crossbeam. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out on a similar 2021 Tesla Model 3.

  • Best Trailer Hitch for Bike Rack on a 2019 Tesla Model 3
The best trailer hitch for a 2019 Tesla Model 3 is the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR. The EcoHitch installs completely behind the rear bumper so you will not even be able to tell a trailer hitch is even installed while the receiver tube is removed. This actually brings me to the removable receiver tube which is a feature specific to the EcoHitch and allows for a 100% factory like appearance. Please note, you will need to remove the rear bumper for installation but...

  • Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.

  • Does the EcoHitch for 2018 Tesla Model 3 Have Safety Chain Loops
Yes. The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR has safety chain loops on the downward tube that the receiver will insert into. Since it sounds like you'll be towing, you will also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT which allows you to clamp on to the vehicle's wiring instead of splicing in, so it's a great solution for vehicles with complicated electrical systems. For a ball mount and hitch ball I recommend...

  • Will the EcoHitch for a 2020 Tesla Model 3 Cause Corrision Between Hardware and Bumper Beam
In regards to the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR which is a fit for a 2020 Tesla Model 3, the hardware captured inside the hitch that secures the bumper won't really pose a risk of corrosion as the hole is larger than the bolt so there will be space in between the bumper beam and bolt. That said, even if there is contact it would only be slight and since the hitch is hidden behind the bumper the risk would be low.

  • What is Difference Between Curt and EcoHitch Class III that Fits 2019 Tesla Model 3
The big difference between the Curt Class III hitch # C45FR and the EcoHitch # EH84GR is that the EcoHitch has a removable hitch opening so when not being used you could have the hitch be totally invisible since nothing would hang below the rear bumper. The Curt on the other hand would be visible at all times. Of course the Curt costs a bit less so you'd have to decide if the invisibility of the hitch is worth the extra cost.

  • Does Trailer Wiring that Connects to Vehicle Battery Drain the Vehicle Battery When not Towing
While the # 119250KIT does need to attach directly to the positive post of a vehicle battery it does not draw any amperage unless there's a trailer connected to it so you do not need to worry about this draining the vehicle batteries when not towing. With a circuit connected to the harness amperage can be drawn but if there's no where for the amperage to go the pins of the connector (while active) would not drain the battery. The reason the harness connects directly to the vehicle battery...

Great question! The only difference between the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e33ZR, and the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR is the removable receiver on the EcoHitch. Other than that, these two hitches are virtually identical, both having the exact same towing capacities of 2,000, a maximum tongue weight capacity of 300lbs, made in the USA, and composed of steel.
