Does EcoHitch Require Drilling When Installing On A 2018 Tesla Model 3
Question:
Hi, the 2018 Tesla Model 3 Ecohitch indicates “drilling required” for installation. Is this a typo? Considering all other hitch designs indicate “no drilling” for installation? I need to have accurate information to avoid trouble with install. Thank you

Yes, The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR does require drilling when installing the hitch on your 2018 Tesla Model 3.
Installation requires drilling a hole in the underside of the bumper large enough for the ballmount adapter, also requires temporary removal of the bumper/fascia during installing. The underbody trim panel must be modified or trimmed if present. The Ecohitch requires drilling because it has a complete hidden look unlike the other hitches confirmed to fit your 2018 Tesla Model 3.
If you don't want to drill into your vehicle The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C45FR does not require drilling it has a bolt on installation.
I attached an installation video link below.
