Is Fascia Cutting Required When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
Question:
I'm looking at the EcoHitch for my 2020 Tesla Model 3. I noticed in some other Q&As it mentions cutting a portion of the fascia. It looks like though there is a panel already there on my vehicle? Do you have to cut on the newer models like mine? Thanks for your help!

This is a great question. On your new 2020 Tesla Model 3, there is indeed a factory cutout/panel already present on the fascia that allows fitment for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7373. This means you won't have to cut the fascia during installation or be left with an exposed area when the receiver is removed, as this factory panel can be snapped back into place.
On older models of the Model 3 this portion did need to be cut, but starting with the 2019 model Tesla added this pre-cut panel that works perfectly for the hitch. I have attached an installation video below that you can also use for reference.
