Completely Hidden for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight. The hitch cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind the body of your vehicle. No drilling or welding is required. The receiver portion of the hitch will sit just behind the factory knockout panel in your bumper. Just pop the panel off to tow and put it back on again for a from-the-factory look when you're done using the hitch.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

2013 Subaru Impreza

I bought the hitch to haul a few E-Bikes. Every installer I talked to only supplied hitches with 1.25" receiver for my car (Subaru Impreza). But, every bike rack I found to support the weight of E-Bikes required a 2" receiver. I got the recommendation from a local Hitch Shop to purchase this specific hitch from etrailer and they would install it.
It was installed yesterday, and I am very happy with the result! It installs beautifully, and discretely. Can't wait to hook the bikes up next weekend!

by:

Great service helping me order the right hitch for my car. Delivery was fast. It's on the car and works perfectly with my Hollywood bike rack. A great experience all around.

We have used this hitch often carrying our fat tire E-Bikes to various trailheads. It holds the large bike rack and both bikes securely. Were very happy with the performance of this product.

by:

Took less than 35 minutes to install and like it says......invisible! People can't believe that it's there. You do need to get an extended trailer hitch ball mount but this thing is awesome!

by:

The hitch has two installation options. 1) is removing the bumper. 2. Bore out a hole in the trunk to pull the connection bolts through. I chose the second option. It was way easier took about a half hour. The rack lines up perfect with rear fog light hole and gave me way more ground clearance. Even with the higher price for this hitch I found it was well worth it.

Ford Edge

Quality parts, smooth install and solid feeling hitch.

The only negative comment I can make on fitment is that the lower edge of the receiver tubing seemed a fraction of an inch too low. I expect that I will need to push down the lower portion of the plastic surround (behind the bumper knock-out) ~1/8" in order to insert the stinger. I imagine this could be a result of manufacturing tolerances on hitch and/or car and is not a real complaint but an observation.

As advertised, it's very discreet. Unless you lay on the ground and go looking for it, you'd never know the hitch was there.

by:

Perfect fit for my 2013 Subaru Impreza. My specific search was for something that would not impact the already poor ground clearance of my Impreza. This fits perfectly into the rear bumper and is not hard to set up. Recommend using a friend's help for an extra set of hands to align and hold it up while setting it up, but it's not a major project. Drove cross country and back with my Kuat Bike rack and two bikes, zero problems. Note that it is a bit tricky to get to the key positioning on the hitch lock, but that's actually a security advantage - nearly impossible to tamper with!

Perfet fit for my 2015 Subaru Impreza, hatchback. Installation was very simple, no jack and no power tools required.

by:
2016 Subaru Impreza

I have a 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback and got this to use for transporting bikes. It's a very strong hitch and suits my needs. I had first considered using the Thule T2 Pro XT 2 but the car bumper gets in the way of the hook on the Thule bike rack. So instead I got the 1up bike rack which attaches with no problem. The hitch doesn't center perfectly in the knockout panel; when putting in the bike rack, I have to push down on the plastic around the knockout panel. That works out just fine but is a little annoying. All-in-all, I think this hitch is worth it despite these minor issues.

Still working great - sturdy and clean-looking

by:

Hitch and wiring showed up on time. Going to install in the next few days. Looking foward to having a hitch hidden behind the bumper up high and not hanging down too low to hit the ground. Will be at a preferred level to pull my seadoo with out having to use a raised coupling.

Best hitch ever. Install was fairly easy. Perfectly hidden too. Very glad I installed this with the bumper removed, no drilling at all. Fully stock.

by:

The hitch has performed flawlessly. I use it for a 2 bike rack, no towing. The hitch is invisible when not in use. Works perfect!

Its amazing. I am able to put two bikes on my car without having them on the roof, the receiver is fairly hidden and if needed it comes off with one bolt. I love it!

2015 Subaru Impreza

Although it was rated difficult to install I had it installed in less than 2 hours. The directions that came with the hitch were spot on. Only thing I did different was I didn’t touch the muffler and the hitch went right in with no problems.

Better than expected, no problems attaching what ever hitch I want to use that day from my bicycle hitch or a small trailer hitch. Very glad I went with your product

Hitch fit perfectly on my 2015 impreza sport. Heavy duty and completely hidden when not in use.

2016 Subaru Impreza

Bought this for my 2016 Impreza hatchback. I am putting a Rockymounts 2 inch two bike-bike rack on it. I love how easy the installation process was, the quality of the product is sturdy, and there are easy to understand instructions. It was hard to see from other reviews if the Rockymounts bike rack and hitch opening would fit and not smack the muffler. Rest assured, this does not touch the muffler, doesn't even come close when the rack and hitch pin are on it. My only recommendation would be to suggest in the installation instructions for people to cut out the plastic underside of their bumper since this is recessed behind the bumper and accessing the hitch pin will be difficult unless you have very flexible tiny hands.

by:
2016 Subaru Impreza

Installed this on my 2016 Subaru Impreza Sport Premium hatchback and the actual hitch went in very easy. The bolt fishing tool included in the kit was especially useful, although tightening the bolts inside the frame required the use of a short socket and my 3/8" breaker bar, which was just long enough to get in there and keep the bolt from spinning while tightening the nut with a torque wrench. I did not need to lower the exhaust which undoubtedly saved some frustration. The most difficult part of the installation was wrestling with the many push rivets that hold the bumper fascia in place. I suggest buying several new ones, or maybe even all new ones, so that stubborn rivets can just be broken off and new ones installed. These can be found online in packs of a dozen or so for about ten bucks, or in any auto parts store.

This hitch appears to be very well made and sturdy, and its rating far exceeds the towing/tongue weight capacity of the vehicle (this is ideal, as the hardware should never be the weakest link). With the knockout plate put back in, the external appearance of the car is unchanged as is the ground clearance (which is already low on the Impreza). Getting a pin into the hitch will require laying on the ground under the car but wouldn't be too hard, thankfully the 1up bike rack I plan to use with it has a locking ball bearing retention so no worries there. Plus it could be an added deterrent to anyone looking to detach your hitch and steal your trailer or rack or whatever.

Etrailer shipping was very fast and the instructions were easy to follow, all in all an excellent purchase from start to finish!

by:

Great hitch that has done what I needed it to do. ...except carry 1100 or so lbs in my trailer to MS for vacation. Darned COVID-19.

My only complaint is that it's *really* hard to get the chains hooked up, and requires climbing under the car. If it weren't for that, I'd have given it 5 stars.

by:
2016 Subaru Impreza

Shipping was great. The team told me it was back ordered and notified me when it actually shipped. Installation on a 2016 Impreza was smooth and took me about 2.5 hours. I had to fight some of the bumper fascia clips due to ice/dirt on them because I installed in the middle of winter, and I needed a long extension to get at some of the bumper bolts. The actual hitch install was great and I didn’t have to drop the exhaust. It lines up perfectly with the bumper knockout, and will be “invisible” until I’m ready to use it.

by:

Hitch hides well under the frame of the car and utilizes the factory bumper cover cutout for the hitch itself rather than hanging below it. I love Ike the fact that I can pull the receiver and snap in the hitch cover and the car looks stock.

by:
2015 Subaru Impreza

I was surprised by how easy the installation was given that it's rated a 10 out of 10.

I had to break two of the plastic clips because I wasn't able to pull the center button out (it was more recessed than the other 8).

The bolts holding on the impact bar are on really tight, and they can be hard to get to. I bent one of my 3/8 inch extensions before I was able to find a way to get my breaker bar onto the bolts directly.

As mentioned in the other reviews, I had trouble keeping the mounting bolts from turning in the frame rails, but I was able to get my breaker bar and a socket into the frame rail to keep the bolt heads from turning.

I think that this installation procedure (taking off the bumper and impact bar) is a lot better than having to cut into the frame rails to enlarge the holes.

The hitch feels rock solid, and I'm really happy with having it hidden when not in use. Now I just need to figure out which bike rack to get!

by:

I replaced my UHaul brand, class 1, 1.25inch receiver hitch with this, finally. I regret not buying it before Covid, as it was cheaper then (but still pricier than what I admittedly would want to pay -- c'est la vie!)

I have a lifted 2015 Subaru Impreza, Sport Limited. I wanted to maintain my approach and departure angle while having access to my hitch. I use it mainly for my spare tire carrier, bicycle carrier and/or rear cargo tray.

DON'T perform this install by yourself. It's doable, but painfully tedious. I did not remove the rear bumper, I DID remove muffler for better access. Since the holes in the frame were already set-up from my last hitch install, I just reused the hardware there. I substituted more washers but otherwise, didn't have a need for the new hardware. For a mechanically inclined person, this still took me about 3 hours using car ramps, in my backyard. Doable, but better with an extra set off hands to help you hoist the new hitch up.

by:
2012 Subaru Impreza

Install was easy, usually I'm reluctant buying items like this off the internet because they never seem to go on or fit right. The fit was perfect and did take about 2 hours to install. You really don't need to drop the exhaust like it says you do in the directions, just leave it on. Directions were good enough to get the job done. Wish there were better and more pictures in the directions. All in all I would definitely purchase again.

by:
2014 Subaru Impreza

I had it installed onto my 2014 Subaru Impreza, at the garage. Apparently it went on quite easily.
The hitch is quite recessed behind the bumper making it hard to put the hitch pin in place. I knew it was recessed before I bought it but didn't anticipate the problem of putting the pin in and taking it out again every time I want to take the bike rack on and off. The bike rack will probably just stay on the car from now on!

by:

Fit perfectly , installed easily. Very happy with it
Got exactly what I ordered both hitch and wiring harness.

2013 Subaru Impreza

1 have a 2013 Subaru Impreza Hatchback and the only option that I found on 2" was this hitch and I have to say that is great, a little bit more time consuming to get installed than the other option but way it wort the time. Perfect fit!!

It took some work but its on. I can now use my Kuat NV 2.0 on my 2014 Subaru Impreza Hatchback.

  • Can Thule T2 XTR Fit 2015 Subaru Impreza with EcoHitch
The EcoHitch that fits your 2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback part # 306-X7211 does have a shorter distance from the pin hole to the back of the hitch tube but since the rack has an open back this isn't really an issue as the rack at worst would just stick through the hitch a bit further. The Thule T2 Pro XTR part # TH83JV you are wanting will fit this well and overall is one of the nicest and easiest to use bike racks out there so it would be a great solution.

  • Recommended Platform Bike Rack Compatible With EcoHitch Invisi-Hitch on 2013 Subaru Impreza
I'll start by saying that because the EcoHitch # 306-X7211 is a completely hidden receiver on your 2013 Subaru Impreza Sport, you're going to need to use a bike rack that has a bit longer shank and will get it out away from the vehicle in order to have full functionality. The length of the shank in front of (towards the exhaust) is still important, but the distance available behind the hitch pin hole is going to be more important in determining the functionality of the rack.
