Can a 2014 Subaru Impreza Carry a Motorcycle Carrier over 350 lbs Tongue Weight?
Question:
Hey guys I was looking through your hitches comparable with my 2014 Subaru Impreza. All of them were rated for under 700lbs to tongue weight which is what I would need to transport my motorcycle with it. Are there any solutions you guys can offer or do I have to go to a shop and have one custom built and welded to the frame?

Expert Reply:
For your 2014 Subaru Impreza, we don't have any trailer hitch rated for over 350 lbs tongue weight. I don't recommend having a trailer hitch made for your application because the vehicle is not rated for that kind of weight. Your best option to transport your motorcycle is to use a trailer hitch and trailer.
I recommend the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7241 if you have the sedan or # 306-X7211 if you have the wagon with single exhaust. We don't have anything that is a fit for the WRX or WRX STi models.
For your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118581 for a sedan or the # 118573 for a wagon. For a ball mount I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K # C45534.
The last thing you need is the actual trailer. I recommend the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer - 7-1/2' Long - 1,640 lbs # K2MMT5X7 which is compatible with your motorcycle weight. If you need tie-downs or a wheel chock let me know.
