What Is The Lightest Hitch Option For A 2013 Subaru Impreza Wagon
Question:
Hi, I am starting to look into getting a hitch for my 2013 Subaru Impreza Limited Wagon with the single exhaust. I had a question that I could not find an answer to and was hoping someone might be able to help. What are the actual weights of the hitches that are available for my Impreza? I am intrigued by the Ecohitch since its a 2inch and its hidden, but Im concerned with how much extra weight the 2inch hitch would add. I will not be doing any towing with the hitch, it will be for a hitch mounted bike rack and possibly a cargo carrier down the line. Thank you for any info/help

As stated by the manufacturer, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7211 weighs about 40 lbs. If weight is your primary concern and you are willing to sacrifice the CLASS III capabilities for a CLASS I hitch receiver, the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT24959 will be your best option as it only weighs approximately 23 lbs and is also fairly hidden from plain sight. However, a CLASS I hitch receiver will only allow you to carry a maximum of two bikes on a hitch mounted bike rack opposed to a CLASS II & III which can carry two plus.
I have attached an installation video of the Draw-Tite hitch for your review.
