Product was perfectly designed to be easy to install, robust, and as elegant as a hitch design can be. Even the instructions were easy to follow along with. The trickiest part is removing the rubber isolators for the mufflers from the hangers. You need to remove them to gain excess for a torque wrench to ensure you don't over-tighten the mounting bolts in the weldnuts on the chassis. Etrailer.com even caught an error in my order, corrected it, and confirmed that their catch was indeed in error.
Thank you Curt and etrailer!

Worked well with no issues. Used for about 6 months, then got another Flex. Need to swap it in as well.

Very easy installation, looks and works great.

2010 Lincoln MKT

I've attached a few scaled down photos of the hitch receiver installed.  From the time I got the car on jackstands to the time I was lowering the car back down was 25 minutes.  It was a very easy install, even by myself. I failed to take a photo of the actual bike rack and bikes so I attached a photo of the kids in the backseat.  If you look carefully, you can see the 2 kid's bikes out the back window.  My mountain bike sits low enough of the bike carrier that it wasn't visible.  Thanks again for all your help getting this in time for the vacation.

Good looking Hitch. 39 pounds. Delivery good - showed up before scheduled. Installation tips: 1 You absolutely must drop dual exhaust (I use WD40 and Hand Clamps to push Rubber Exhaust Hangers apart) 2 Lift "big paddle end" of hitch into place first. 3 This is a two person job. Person one-to lift Hitch into place. Person two-thread bolts into uni-body of Flex (thanks to my beautiful wife).

I was looking forward to installing the hitch this weekend but it never came. I received the little box of accessories but no hitch.

Oh my goodness! We will have the hitch shipped out for you. I will have our Customer Service team reach out.

by:

The hitch I purchased is great. The instructions for installation were very clear. Unfortunately, having a car in the Northeast makes getting rusty bolts off the frame very difficult. But once I finally did the hitch went on very easy.

by:
2016 Ford Flex

I was able to install this on my 2016 Ford flex limited without any help aside from a couple Jack stands. Fit great, looks great, couldn't be happier! I would recommend etrailer.com to a friend.

by:

It looks too good to install! I will let you know how it goes when I install it, probably this coming weekend.

by:

Install was straight forward and easy. Customer service was top tier. Ordered the wrong hitch initially, the staff was knowledgeable of what I actually needed and was always quick with responding to my inquiries.

by:

Great product and perfect service from etrailer. Couldn't have been a better experience!

by:

Quick shipping and easy install!

by:

Great Product fairly easy install. Curt's jig for making these must have slipped at some point because it should really be about 3/8 of an inch wider or they need to keep it from warping during there welding process. I can confirm as other reviews and installation videos have shown you will more than likely have to pry it over to get the second set of bolts in. It helps if you have two people to do this. If you do not you can hold the hitch up with a jack and use a large phillips screwdriver in one of the bolt holes to pry it over and start the first bolt. Once that is in place you will have to find another place to pry to get the next bolt in.

2013 Ford Flex

solid, heavy build, fit perfectly, instructions are clear. will use mainly for bike rack.

was able to install myself by backing the car onto ramps, lowering the mufflers onto vertical cinder blocks and then resting the hitch on top of the mufflers while getting first bolts threaded.

the only minor issue is that the box arrived really beat up via UPS; the hitch loose inside and actually poking out a hole. but the damn thing is indestructible so it hardly matters!

by:
2014 Ford Flex

The hitch itself was easy to install on my model flex. Four bolts and three muffler hangers removed and re-installed, took about 20 minutes. The reason I did not give 5 stars is the packaging is sub-par. I ordered the wrong hitch to begin with and both boxes arrived with holes busted in the sides, the hitch was loose inside and one box had lost half of staples holding it shut. I was surprised that the wire harness I ordered didn't fall out.

by:
2015 Ford Flex

The hitch kit for my 2015 Ford Flex was a perfect fit and the wiring kit was an exact match. This was a simple installation. A friend and I did this install in less than an hour, start to finish.

I am now able to tow my trailer & carry the quads to the dunes.

Thanks for everything.

I will recommend etrailer.com to all my friends.

Very good quality product, Curt hitch for a dual exhaust Ford Flex, and super speedy filling the order and delivery. Bonus, shipping was FREE for the trailer hitch! I saved a ton of money, less than half the price of uhaul and Sears, although I needed to install it myself (it was an easy install.) I definitely recommend this business, my friend who had a great experience referred me and I will do the same because I am so pleased, thanks!

It came before it said it would. The only thing is the cardboard inside of the box let go but so far looks like no damage. I have not installed it yet. Will update when I do. Great customer service.

My son and I installed it. I havent had the chance to use it. I put it on the Flex for our trailer that we tow behind our Motorhome. We havent used the trailer since last April, so I havent hooked it up to the flex to put it away yet.

by:
2015 Ford Flex

Fit perfectly
Suggest a can of dry lubricant
to help remove the rubber hangers for the exhaust system.
Can be done with the car on the ground. It was easier when one side was lifted with a jack. Put a block under the tire for saftey.
Nice doing business with this company

Hitch fit perfectly. Quality and good looking once under Flex. Takes a little longer when you install it laying on your back on garage floor but easy enough for any one with a little experience can do. Held it up with two jack stands and went in pretty easy. Have used Curt products before and always happy with them. etrailer is always the place to go for any item needed. Thanks....

by:

Fit on this was perfect. Installation was super easy and only took about 30 mins. The only time I needed another hand was when trying to bolt the hitch into place, but my 11 year old was able to hold it up long enough.

by:
2014 Ford Flex

This hitch fit our 2014 Ford Flex (non-ecoboost) perfectly. Only problem was the installation instructions did not match our Flex. The instructions were for a Ecoboost Flex and we have a non-Ecoboost model. A quick call to Curt resolved the issue. What should be stated on the website is that this hitch will fit both Ecoboost and non-Ecoboost models.

2014 Ford Flex

Fits Ford Flex well. Easy enough to install especially after watching etrailer video. Drove car up onto two 1 inch thick blocks to create working room underneath. Lowering mufflers was about what I expected. Used only a lubricant and a screwdriver. Delivery came quickly.

I'm a car guy and have installed dozens of hitches. I could have used help on this one only cause it was so heavy but once the wrestling match was over I won and the hitch is sexy
I love etrailers services and products

by:

Hitch arrived when scheduled. Everything was in the box as expected. Installation was around 45 minutes and the hitch fits perfectly. Courteous service and etrailer answered the phone...on a Saturday, when I needed them too. It was nice to have free shipping as well. I would, and did recommned etrailer to a friend.

We love quality of this Hitch Receiver. We are a biking family and use it to load up our family bicycles. etrailer make the install process easy with online videos. I would definitely buy from them again.

  • Which Curt Hitch Fits 2013 Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost Engine
We have a Curt hitch that fits your 2013 Lincoln MKT with the EcoBoost engine with the part # C13110 but the # C13000 that you referenced only fits the models without the EcoBoost engine. The big difference is the driver side crosstube of the # C13110 which is designed to fit around the exhaust of the EcoBoost engines.

  • Wiring Brake Controller and 7-Way to 2013 Lincoln MKT
We have a way to install a 7-way on your 2013 Lincoln MKT but there isn't a way to tie into any factory wiring. What you'd need to start with a custom fit 4-way part # C56095 and then convert that to a 7-way with the part # ETBC7 which also comes with everything needed to wire up a brake controller as well. Then for a brake controller the P2 # 90885 would work really well. If you can verify the brake controller wiring is active you can use some of the circuits there. Red wire of controller...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer that Weighs 4,000 lbs
All of the components you mentioned will do a great job for a towing setup for your 2017 Ford Flex and they are all linked below for you to check out but to answer your main question about weight distribution the way to do it is to base off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup. So since your trailer would be 4,000 lb you'd most likely have a tongue weight around 400 to 500 lbs so the system I would recommend is the Strait Line part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range between...

  • Would 24x60 Pro Series Cargo Carrier Work with 2010 Ford Flex
Yes, first you will need a trailer hitch with a 2 inch hitch receiver, like Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13110 for the Ford Flex with dual exhaust, or Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13551 for the Ford Flex without a dual exhaust. Then you can use a cargo carrier like the 24x60 Pro Series Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, # 63153, which you referenced. I have included a couple installation videos of these hitches and the cargo carrier for you to check out.

  • Hitch and Recommended Towing Accessories for 2014 Ford Flex
For the 2014 Ford Flex with dual exhaust, I'd recommend the US made Curt Class III hitch, part # C13110. If you'll be towing with the hitch as opposed to just using it for a hitch mounted accessory, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system. For a trailer wiring harness, use # 118472 or # 74682 if your Flex is equipped with the tow package. For a ball mount, I'd go with # 2753 which includes the hitch pin. For a trailer ball, use # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 63845...

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2017 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
For the dual exhaust-equipped Flex, you'll want to use the Curt Class III, part # C13110, as the # 13551 isn't a fit for models with a dual exhaust. If you'll be towing with your hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like part # C55774, a ball mount like # 40346 used in the rise position, a pin and clip like # PC3 and a trailer ball. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use # 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.
