Today, were going to review part number Y07238. This is the Yakima lockup hitch lock and cable lock. It uses the Yakima same key system. This lockup security system is for Yakima hitch munted bike carriers. It will include the cable lock which will secure your bikes to the bike rack and it will include this hitch lock which will secure the bike rack to the hitch receiver. The security system will work with all Yakima hitch-mounted bike carriers.

I did check around and found the prices were excellent, the lock fit perfectly and the shipping speed and packing were great.
I love this Yakima Kingpin 4 bike rack. It arrived on time and is very stable. My bike had minimal movement through view of my rearview mirror. I even went 70 mph on the freeway. No problem for this rack! It took only about 20 minutes to put together and install onto my hitch. What a great buy! I was lucky to get the free shipping too. You guys helped me pick out this rack due to the grest videos you guys have on youtube. Thanks etrailer.com!
This is a junk system for an rv. Have to keep redoing codes every trip
Don’t waste your money
This cable and lock is working great so far. Ive had it for less than a week but it seems to work good. The cable has good length. I haven't tried but i think it can lock up at least 3 bikes. Maybe even four depending on how you lock them up. I used the cable and lock by putting the cable through each tire of my bike and then connected the cable to my Yakima Kingpin 4 bike rack. It gives a lot of security to your bike just in case someone at the stoplight tries to take your bike off your rack. Probably that's less likely to happen but, they're some fools in this world. I love the SKS System too. I use the same key on the cable lock and also on the hitch pin lock. Very convenient. No no regrets!
I love Yakima products but in this instance the locking pop up mechanism in the cable lock barrel did not work until after I kept trying to open and close the lock using the key (ie. The small metal part inside the locking barrel just would not pop up even after 30 or more attempts). Eventually I did get it working but now I am a little worried that it might get stuck sometime (eg. In locked position! )

Thank you for your review. Sometimes the new locks can be sticky. If you lightly tap the key into the lock with a rubber mallet the first time the lock will work fine after that.
With the supply chain problems it took a little while to get the cable/lock back in stock, but once it was in stock it was shipped very quickly. I was kept informed of the status of the order all through the process of the item being restocked and shipping. the staff at etrailer were great. The cable/lock works great to lock the bike onto the rack. Since it is the same color and material as the cable/lock that is on the rack it blends in well.
Trailer was fast and efficient getting my Yakima product to me.
Product works great. Took it with us on our vacation from PA up to VT with no issues. Fitting four on the rack is tight, three bikes is perfect.
The one thing I would change is the bolt that secures the rack to the hitch. It's way too long for a 1 1/4 hitch opening. It almost doesn't make sense to use the clip to secure the bolt.
Wasn't sure what type of locking system would work with my Yakima Bighorn, but eTrailer.com came to the rescue! I was able to research the bike rack and watch the related videos to see how the lock would interact. I order the lock on Monday, received it on Friday. Great service and shipment.

The Yakima lockup cable is extra long and quite flexible. It has a smooth soft rubbery coating to prevent any damage to your bike. I'm using it in conjunction with a Yakima Holdup two bike hitch mounted "tray" style rack. The cable will easily pass thru the front and rear wheels as well as the frames of two bikes. I looped my cable through the chain loop on my hitch receiver so that the bikes are connected directly to the receiver not just to the bike rack. The cable ALSO Includes a separate lock that attaches to the end of the Yakima specific anti-rattle bolt so that your bike rack can be locked to your hitch receiver. A great way to secure both your bikes to your rack and your rack to your car!

The items above are what I just purchased from etrailer.Com. Shipment was extremely fast, items seem strong and dependent. Items also fit as they say on my 2011 4runner LTD. My bicycle is in a shop 60 miles away getting a "tune-up." I'll test the set-up above when I go and get it.

All products arrived as described and the hitch was easy to install after watching the video at etrailer.com. The bike rack is solid and doesn't wiggle around in the hitch too much (might get a j-pin) and the hitch is bomber.
Plenty of length to secure your bikes together and to a rack. The pin that locks the car rack to the car hitch has a steel bolt and replaces the other pin so that you don't have to remove and replace it every time you want to lock the rack to the hitch. Both locks share same key.
Called hoping to find a part for a 14 year old bike rack. No model number or name. Only Yakima 4 bike rack that tilted to access the trunk. Amy answered the phone and now the bikes are on the road. She searched and gave me part numbers so I could look at the product and its spec's with her until we got the right ones. My cat was meowing in the back ground and we talked about her cats and mine while we looked for my parts. Very personable, worked until the order was complete and correct and shipped it the same day. Earned my future business and anybody's I can tell about getting good parts, good price and good service.
Both the hitch lock and the cable lock worked very well with the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike carrier. Keep in mind that these locks are meant to discourage casual theives and not someone armed with real cutting tools.
Worked well for securing two bikes. Might be a stretch on three, four might be tough to do with the length. All in all I am happy with the product and the ability to only carry 1 key for both the anti rattle pin lock and the cable lock.
Ordered a cable and lock for a Yakima bike rack and you had it in stock and it was at my doorstep in two days. Could not ask for more!

Still going great after a year! I am able to lock up three bikes on my Yakima kingpin 4 bike trailer hitch. Im sure this cable will last for years, due to its quality.
