Hello, neighbors. I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the replacement Tamper-Proof Screw for the Thule Ride-On Adapter, or the Thule Bed-Rider Flat Top, or Snowboard Racks. So folks, this again will replace 1 M6 tamperproof screw for your Thule Ride-On adapter, the Bed-Rider, or Flat Top or snowboard rack. And it prevents carriers mounting brackets from being removed from the roof rack load bars without the proper tamperproof wrench. Now that tamperproof wrench is sold separately, you can get it here at etrailer.com.
I'll go ahead and pop up the part number there on the page. That way you can see that as well. Now folks, this is a closeup shot of that tamperproof Thule screw. Again, simple replacement screw. You can see the tamper proof star design with that raised portion in the middle.

I needed parts for my older Thule bike roof rack and when I called Thule, they said they no longer carried the parts but recommended etrailer. I was afraid I might have to buy a new rack but etrailer had exactly what I was looking for, including a single screw. The parts were very affordable and arrived quickly. Got these to replace the stripped tamperproof bolts on my 2007 SAAB 93ss, with the aero bar feet
these bolts are slightly longer than my original bolts and require washers to insure the rack is locked in tight, without washers, there is about 1/4in play and the bars will rattle/shake when driving.
****if buying these for your '03-'11 SAAB 93ss roof rack, they will require washers to insure a snug fit
Etrailer was the only place that I could find this 7mm Saab screw. They were personally helpful, delivered exactly what I asked for, and did so quickly.
I received the items fast! The screws weren’t exactly like the ones that came with the Thule rack I purchased. I’m not sure if the pictures on the website were deliberately shown in a way to hide how rounded the ends were? These ones aren’t super flat but where these actually screw down in my rack they hide so it doesn’t matter that they aren’t flat! I was also concerned that the key wouldn’t fit to turn the screws but they actually fit perfectly! I will definitely purchase from you guys again!

This was the perfect screw I used to install the bike roof rack on my 2017 Ford Explorer. Since it is a security bolt, I am confident the the rack would not be easily stolen.

Screws fit a ski rack that was bought over ten years ago ...perfect!!!!
The one thing I noticed was the replacement screws are about 1/4" shorter then the factory screws they were a challenge to get on but I think they might be fine
