Which Trailer Ball Size for 27 Foot Long Travel Trailer
Question:
I am picking up a 1990s 27 ft. travel trailer, and arent sure what size ball hitch Ill need to tow it. Im would assume its a 2 and5/8, but I want be absolutely certain before I attempt to tow it. thanks

A trailer of the size you mention would either use a 2 inch or a 2-5/16 inch ball. A 2 inch ball can have a capacity up to 8000 lbs, while the capacity of a 2-5/16 inch ball can range between 6,000 and 30,000 lbs. The 2-5/16 inch ball would be more likely, but I couldn't say for sure without knowing the weight of the trailer.
Using a tri-ball mount like the # C42KR you referenced might be your best bet.
The required ball size should be stamped into the metal on the trailer coupler.
