Video Transcript for Review of B and W Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Tow and Stow 3 Ball Mount 2-1/2 Inch Hitch - BWTS20048C

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this B and W Tow and Stow Three Ball Mount for your two and a half inch hitch. This B and W Tow and Stow Adjustable Ball Mount is going to slide in your two and a half inch hitch receiver and lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights with the three balls that we have here. We have a one and 7/8 inch ball, a two inch ball, and then a two and 5/16 inch ball. So this mount is going to give you quite a bit of flexibility, making this a great ball mount to consider if you own multiple trailers.

Now the gross towing capacity on the one and 7/8 inch ball, it is 3,500 pounds, and then on the two inch ball is 7,500 pounds. And then on the two and 5/16 inch ball, it's 18,000 pounds. And to switch the balls it's going to be very easy. I do have this set on my two inch ball currently. If I wanted to switch it, you're just gonna remove that clip and then that pin and then that's going to allow you to freely adjust this to whichever ball you are going to need at the time.

So I'm just gonna go ahead and set that on my one and 7/8 inch ball and slide that pin into place just like that and then secure it with the clip, and that's how easy this is going to be. So you're not gonna be back there struggling with this mount at the back of your truck when you're trying to change to whichever size ball is gonna work best for you. Now when you're not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you're not gonna bang your shins when you're walking behind your truck. So let me give you a brief demonstration of how you can do that. Obviously this is going to work smoother when you have this installed on your hitch receiver.

Now let me go ahead and just remove the pins just like that. And then that's going to allow me to not only adjust the height but then just flip it behind just like that. And then as you can see, it's gonna be nice and flat at the back of your vehicle. And then to stow it, you're just going to replace the pin and clips and then that'll hold into place just like that. So very simple to use.

Let me go ahead and put it back in towing position. I'm gonna go ahead and replace these pins. And the pins slide very, very easily so they don't get caught up or bound up or anything like that. So everything works very smoothly, very easily. So it's gonna be very easy to adjust not only the the height but also whichever ball you want to use as well. Now the maximum drop on this is going to be about five inches and this is currently in the drop position. And then the maximum rise when you have this flipped, just like this, and then you have this platform all the way up is gonna be about four and a half inches. So you do have incremental height adjustment of one inch. And to avoid this Tow and Stow hitting steep driveways or curbs, we do recommend at least 11 inches of clearance between the ground and the lowest point of the drop hitch as you see there in that photo. Now this channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents the removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed. So as you can see here, we do have a slot that is cut into the adjustment channel, right here near the top of the shank. And if you ever needed to remove this ball platform, you would actually have to remove the shank from your trailer hitch receiver. So as long as you have this in your trailer hitch receiver and it's locked in there, with like a locking pin and clip, no one can just come by and remove this platform. You would actually have to remove this from your hitch receiver and then remove the clips and the pins and then slide this down and behind here and pull that out of this mount. So this is going to be very secure for you. They're not gonna be able to remove that platform easily at all. The dual process chrome plating on the shank and the balls are gonna give you excellent rust resistance. And this is made here in the USA of a durable steel construction with high yield tubing that's going to give you superior strength. And these stainless steel pins are gonna give you sturdy, rust resistant connections. And let me go ahead and give you some measurements just so you can be confident that this is going to work for you. So measuring the distance from the center of the hitch pin holes to the center of our balls, starting with the hitch pin hole that's closest to the ball, measuring from the center of that hole to the center of the ball, we're sitting right at about nine and a quarter inches. And then measuring from the hitch pin hole that's farthest from the ball to the center of the ball, we're sitting at about 10 and 3/8 inches. And then measuring from the center of the hitch pin hole that's closest to the mounting block to the center of the holes on the mounting block, we're sitting at about three and three quarters inches. And then the pinhole that's farthest away from the mounting block to the center of the holes on the mounting block, about four and 7/8 inches. And then the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole that's closest to the rear of the shank to the end of the shank, about two and 3/8 inches. And then from our hitch pin hole that's farthest from the rear of the shank to the end of the shank, about three and a half inches. So hopefully those measurements help you and give you the confidence that this is going to work for you. I do wanna point out that a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock is sold separately from this. So if you don't have something compatible, that is something that you can find here at etrailer.com. I would highly recommend a hitch lock though. This is an investment that you're making, so you do wanna make sure that you have this secured to the back of your truck in your trailer hitch receiver.
