This Master Lock single-hinged hasp is made of hardened steel and boasts an extra-tough, hardened boron alloy staple that resists cutting and sawing. The hinged design is perfect for locking up corners or openings that are uneven or angled. The reason that I bought this product had nothing to do with towing, trailers, vehicles, sports, or recreation. What I wanted was an extra level of protection for a four-drawer steel file cabinet, and this looked like the ideal solution. I have a locking bar on the file cabinet, but I wanted some extra protection for one of the drawers. So, I added this lock to the top drawer. It worked out very well, as you can see by the picture.
The lock is heavy and very sturdy, and I like the way the ends of the hinge pin are covered, making it impossible to punch out the hinge pin with a hammer. Along with an Abus 7-disk cylinder padlock, the drawer looks quite secure.
Exactly what I needed!
