Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the RC Manufacturing Replacement Compression Latch. This is going to replace one damaged latch for your RC Manufacturing underbody truck or trailer toolbox. This is an RC Manufacturing replacement, so you can trust it's going to fit right onto your toolbox. You're not going to have to worry about compatibility issues, or anything like that. So, this handle is going to cause this knob to come forward, like so.
We are going to give you two keys so that you can lock that in place. You don't have to worry about anyone coming along and opening up your toolbox. All your tools will be safe in your truck or trailer. Should be very easy to get this switched out in place of the original, so that your toolbox will be accessible again, and will have that locking capability once more. So that's going to complete our look at the RC Manufacturing Replacement Compression Latch.

Latches are made much cheaper than they used to be. Between the 4 boxes we usually have to replace about 4-5 latches a year. They always break in the same spot where there is a week point.

- Can Cam Be Replaced on Compression Latch for Tool BoxHey Will, thanks for the photo! That cam part on the Replacement Compression Latch # 313-8-325-281 unfortunately isn't something that the industry makes - for whatever reason these compression latches are only available as a whole kit even though from what I'm seeing that cam is a pretty consistent problem regardless of who the manufacturer is.

Currently we only carry the Replacement Compression Latch # 313-8-325-281 as an assembly for the RC Manufacturing Z-Series Truck or Trailer Underbody Tool Box # UB1818-36. We will not have just a replacement key cylinder for the latch.

The handle measures 5-1/2" wide and 6" tall which you can see in the attached photo. It's expected that there may be some slight modifications required for fitment but this is pretty much going to be unavoidable as there isn't any sort of record for this to obtain an exact replacement.
