  • Pre-drilled hole lets you attach a bungee cord, ratchet strap, or carabiner

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Video Transcript for etrailer E-Track Tie Down Ring Review e27HR

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this E-Track anchor point from etrailer. It's gonna be a great way to just clip into your E-Track or your X-Track system and have a quick anchor point for your ratchet straps. Let's check it out. So this is going to be a very basic anchor point for your E-Track.

It's really only designed for these S hook ratchet straps and it's gotta be a smaller S hook too because those holes are not very big. And to get through both of them and still be able to close the snap ring on our S hook here we can't go in all the way. So for me it makes it a little bit limiting. I like the versions of these anchor points that have a large ring on the outside because you can fit more hooks, a wider variety of hooks and they can move and articulate a bit better so you can pull at a better angle. Whereas this is kind of pulling at a strange angle.

But for an application like this generator where we know it's gonna live right here, it's always gonna get strapped down the same way and in the same spot, we can see that it's actually working pretty well right here. The generator isn't going anywhere, just takes one strap to secure it to the wall and two anchor points. So if you've got something like that and you want to save a little bit and get a more basic anchor point, then you can. But the other ones in my opinion are gonna be nicer and a little bit more versatile if you need to move them around. Taking a closer look at it you can see that hole where I was talking about and why it's maybe going to be a little bit more difficult to get an S hook to pass through there because really it's not that large.

And then the construction, it's going to be steel with a yellow zinc finish on there. That's gonna help it resist rust and corrosion over time. So if you do have this outside, not in an enclosed trailer but maybe on an open utility trailer, then it can hold up to the elements just fine. And that trigger mechanism is going to operate just like any other E-Track accessory would, opening it, sliding it up into position and releasing it to lock it into place. And then just pulling that whenever you're ready to remove it.

The only other thing to keep in mind is your weight capacities. This one is going to have a safe working load limit of 1200 pounds and a break strength of 4,000 pounds. So just make sure you're not overloading it and be sure to also check the straps you're using and any other parts of the tie down system like your E-Track to make sure that you're going by the lowest rated component because you don't wanna overload any part of your system. But honestly, with this style of anchor point I don't think you're gonna be pulling on it super hard because it is a bit harder to use and if you're pulling at a strange angle chances are you're not tying it down super tight to begin with. So I think you should be fine just be cautious of it. And that's really all there is to it. I think it's a simple way to add an anchor point to your E-Track system and your trailer, like I said before and many times at this point, I prefer this style just because the ring on the end gives you a lot more options to tie things down. Can fit multiple S hooks on there maybe even a double J hook if you've got one of those straps or you can pass a rope or something through it. Really just comes down to what you're tying down and how you're using the anchor points. I think this one is going to really shine in a fixed position where you know it's gonna work. You know you're tying down the same thing in the same place every time. If you need more versatility then get a more versatile anchor point. But that's just been our look at this version of the etrailer E-Track anchor point. Thanks for watching.

These seem to be heavier duty than the ones I already purchased from etrailer. I think they will work well.
