Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the JR Products plunger and rubber socket door holder. Now, this is going to be a handy way to keep your door from coming back open or urge from going back closed in your RV, or your enclosed trailer, wherever you might need this to be. So you can put this on the outside to hold that door open so you can load in equipment, or luggage, or whatever you might be putting into that enclosed trailer. So basically, just this plunger piece is going to go into that little rubber socket, and once it's in there, it's going to hold tight so we won't have our door coming back closed on it, even if there is a gust of wind or maybe we're on a little bit of an incline or anything like that.It comes with the mounting hardware to get that installed.

Each of our metal pieces is going to be made of a zinc plated steel, so we shouldn't have to worry about much rust or corrosion. The socket is made out of a rubber, so should hold up well over time, although after a long while or a few years, this might start to get a little cracked and faded on you. You can replace this without having to replace the whole unit. You can just remove the keeper on the outside, replace this guy with a new one, and should last for years to come. It is backed by a lifetime warranty from JR Products.

As far as the size for our plunger, it's going to be three inches long and that's going from the base, the bottom of the base, to the edge here where it actually holds into that plunger, or holds into that rubber socket.So even though this is slightly longer than three inches, that's where it's actually going to hold. So it's going to give you a three inch span. For our socket, side to side, it's just about three and a half inches long by about two and an eighth inch wide, and then about an inch deep. Now that rubber piece is a little bit thicker than our keeper, so whenever you're putting this in place, you might need to use a little bit of force to compress that down, but the rubber should have enough give to let you get that installed pretty easily. As far as the base for the plunger, that's going to be about three inches by about one and a half inches.

We'll get the four screws, and each of those are going to be an inch long, and they just take a Phillips head to get those attached, or Phillips to get those in place.
