Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a really quick look at this weld-on aluminum hinge. Now, this hinge measures out at right about 2 3/8 of an inch. You can see, we do have kind of this point here on the one side so that we have two flat edges to weld our hinge in place. So if we measure with that point, we're gonna be right at a half-inch in thickness. If we rotate that so that we're not including that point, right about 3/8 of an inch thick.
So this hinge is gonna provide great support for the length of your metal door or gate. It can work for your trailers, barbecue pits, electrical boxes, machinery doors, and lots of other applications. Because it is a weld-on installation, you are going to be limited to metal surfaces just so that you can get this welded properly. But because it is a weld-on design, it is going to ensure that you have a nice strong hold for heavy duty permanent applications. This is an aluminum construction, so both sides are made of aluminum.
So it's gonna be very corrosion resistant, hold up really well for you. The pin and the bushing are both a stainless steel construction, so again, very corrosion resistant. That bushing is there to make sure that you're gonna have a nice, smooth operation as you're turning and pivoting that a hinge. That pin diameter is 1/4 of an inch. So it's not gonna take up much room, but will allow you to attach one end to your door, and then the other side to the mounting location so that you can get that door, or whatever application you're wanting this for, to pivot on that hinge.
So really basic hinge here. The benefit of this is just how small it is. It doesn't have any grease fittings or anything like that on it, but it should be very simple to get installed and to use if you are needing just a small weld-on hinge like this. These are really nice hinges. Very sturdy and heavy. I did have issues with the shipping of these where the shipping packaging was not durable enough for parts not to fall out. Etrailer did take care of the shipping problem, and got me replacements.

I have found ETRAILER.COM to be an excellent company to deal with. I ordered a hinge that was shown to have a delayed delivery and the contacted me to see if I was interested in something similar with faster delivery, though I declined. The hinge I ordered came in with in the expected time span and is exactly what I wanted. Unlike a local company that assured me they had the part I wanted and after an hour drive, they only had something close. the customer is not always right, but good customer service is really important and these guys knocked it out of the park as far as I'm concerned.
