Great replacement bumper. Had to drill new mounting holes in the trailer and steel bar that goes into the new rubber bumper. Used old bar new holes. Added new mounting holes in bumper at both ends. This was required because the old bumper mounting holes were on 16" centers. New bumper on 12" centers. Glad to have this replaced with a quality product.

by:

Fairly easy to change. We had to drill new holes but with the right bit didn't take long. Glad to have a nice new bumper.

by:

As far as I could find this bumper was the only one with the exact hole spacing needed for my horse trailer. Easy to cut to length with a sharp Stanley knife, easy to install, I was thrilled that the metal plate for installation slid in perfectly and I didn't have to mess with that at all. Super happy how it turned out!

by:

My wife was very happy to have a new one on her trailer so the horses wouldn’t get hurt if they bumped their legs against it. Installing went good. Had to redrill holes. Old one was 9 1/2” center. Also had to get longer bolts because new bumper was a little thicker on the mounting side. Overall very pleased with the product. My wife says maybe we will have to get some new wheels also. I don’t think it ever ends haha

The bumper is still just like new and yes it has been tested with horses stepping on it while loading and unloading many times. Very happy with it and give it very high marks for satisfaction.

by:

I am very happy with the fit and quality of this bumper. I used it to replace the damaged one on my 2004 Morgan Built horse trailer. Though I needed an 84" instead of 96' I was able to use it by sawing about eight inches off one end making the new one two inches longer on each end than the original so that it covered more of the width of the trailer. The long slotted steel strip from my old bumper slid nicely into place to lay flat against the back wall of the bumper providing a good surface for the nuts to tighten against. The cut-out holes lined up perfectly with the existing studs and were large enough to get my aging girly fingers into in order to thread the nuts onto the studs. The whole arrangement is as secure as the original. I consider this bumper a good value.

Highly satisfied with the company and the customer service provided etc.... Would recommend the site and or products to anyone such as friends or family. My husband and I have been camping with our horses for the last 15 years. Last fall we bought a new horse trailer and it came with a ramp. After several close calls with the ramp and the final straw last weekend when my husband gelding slipped on the ramp and fell on his side we where going to cut it off with a torch. I found your site and your product was exactly what we needed to replace the ramp to our trailer without compromising the looks or value of the trailer. I received the bumper before expected and was exactly what was represented on the site...

by:

Just what I was looking for

by:

This bumper is exactly what we needed! I simply cut a 42” piece from each end with a hand saw. The predrilled holes were a perfect match for our trailer.

by:

Awesome bumper! Installed on a 1960"s homemade trailer that previously did not have one. The hardest part was drilling for the bolts. It cut very easy with a reciprocating saw.

by:

Happy with bumper, installing went grea t.

by:

Why did I wait so long? Why.did I dread doing this? 10 minutes total time. Battery drill for bolts and sawsall with metal blade to cut off ends. 11 inch oc lined up perfectly. Slam dunk. Thank you etrailer!

by:

the bumper is of great quality and looks great on my trailer and my horses appreciate the safety it provides.

by:

This is the 2nd one of these I have installed. After cutting it to size I used drill screws with some fender washers to attach it and it was no problem.

by:

Great product, exactly what I needed for horse trailer.

by:

Easy to order and received quicker than expected. The holes matched up to the existing holes on an older Titan trailer. We trimmed off the excess with a cordless handheld saw.

by:

Looks like what I ordered, have not installed it yet.

by:

fit was perfect- went on easy.

by:

First went to the trailer manufacturer to replace our trailer rubber bumper. They were out of stock and the price was twice as much. We weren't sure about ordering this from someone else, but were VERY pleased! The rubber bumper is EXACTLY what we had before and even predrilled EXACTLY in the same places. It also shipped free and quickly. We couldn't be more pleased and will recommend this to all our friends. This rubber bumper was for our horse trailer, but if we need something for our toy hauler trailer, we'll definately keep your company in mind. Thank you for your good quality service.

by:

I own a 1989 4 horse Bronco and needed to add a rubber bumper to the back. It took a lot of elbow grease and my Dad's old drills, but I got it mounted. I am glad I did as it now gives me peace of mind when the horses are loading or unloading. I am grateful etrailer had the part. Thank you!

by:

I bought several items to repair and update my Titan horse trailer. These included chrome lug nuts and hub covers for the wheels and a bumper for the back of the trailer. The items were delivered extremely quickly and we'll packaged. All the items were exactly what I wanted and as they were presented. I am very pleased and will purchase from this company again

by:

Great quality product . Easy to install. I used portaband saw to cut to length. Used pre drilled holes and used a standard hole saw where I needed extra holes, along with standard drill bits. The material drills and cuts perfectly. Nice quality product. This was being used to replace my work out bumper on my horse trailer. Looks like oem replacement .

by:

Easy ordering, quick shipping, reasonable pricing, great reviews, trailer bumper fits our 2004 trailer to a tee. Awesome experience and customer service.
Thank you

by:

I ORDERED THE PRE-DRILLED ROUND RUBBER BUMPER FOR MY HORSE TRAILER , AND IT WAS A PERFECT REPLACEMENT.MY EIGHT YEAR OLD TRAILER AS GOOD TODAY, AS THE DAY I BOUGHT IT.

by:

Fit our Cimarron perfectly! It is tuff too. Horses step on it constantly while unloading and it doesn’t stuff or rip. Takes some patience to install and I recommend replacing the inner strip of aluminum. Take your time and drill holes in aluminum as carefully as possible!

by:

Great rubber bumper at a great price, delivered as promised.

  • How to Install Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper # D2-96
The Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper # D2-96 can be installed in a variety of ways depending on the nature of the trailer. The holes are drilled all the way through to allow user-supplied hardware to mount it. We also offer a larger size bumper # D3-96 that measures 3-inches x 3-inches. No special tool is required for installation; you will use whatever tool is appropriate for the fasteners you choose.

  • Replacement Rubber Bumper for a Trailer
The holes on your existing bumper seem to be about 11 inches apart. The holes on bumper # D3-96 are also 11 inches apart. You may have to drill a hole or two to get it lined up with the first hole but then it should line up nicely. I have also included a link to the right that will explain how to estimate shipping cost.

There are holes every 11" but if you need mounting locations different than that you can drill out holes to fit your application. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Replacement for 84 Inch Bumper on Horse Trailer
All of our bumper strips are 96" long and have the holes pre-drilled out at 11" on center, but the nice thing is these can be cut and re-drilled to accommodate your application. You just need to choose which one has the width you're looking for: 2-1/16" Width - # D2-96 3" Width - # D3-96 4" Width - # D4-96 So these will definitely work, you'll just need to do some modification to make it work.

  • 96" Rubber Bumper Needed with Pre-Drilled Holes
We have exactly what you are needing with part # D3-96 when it comes to the bumper. This is a pre-drilled round rubber trailer bumper that is 96" long (8') and has 9 holes drilled that as 11" apart on center and take 9/16" bolts. Unfortunately we do not carry any steel support bars with these specs so you would need to source that elsewhere. Attached is an installation video for you to reference.

  • Option For Rubber Bumper For Rear of Trailer
Hi Larry, So we have a couple bumpers that may work, though each is 96 inches long. They can be cut to length though, and the difference is their width, as one is 3" wide and the other 4" wide to fit different size bumpers: - Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper - 96" Long x 3" Wide # D3-96 - Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper - 96" Long x 4" Wide # D4-96

  • Fastener Recommendation to Attach Round Rubber Bumper D3-96
You could use some self-tapping screws like # FA1131822 to avoid drilling holes first. If you know about where the wiring is you could position the bumper # D3-96 so as to avoid the wiring. Or another option would be to drill from the backside, if possible, so you can avoid the wiring for sure. Or another option would be some type of anchor bolt or screw but that would still require drilling.

  • Is the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper D3-96 Made of Soft or Hard Rubber
I went to our warehouse to personally handle the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumpers # D3-96 for you so I could advise you on their stiffness. These bumpers are quite firm. When I applied my palm to the bumper and leaned as much of my body weight as I could onto it, there was almost no compression at all. So this is by no means a soft or squishy product. I would say it is perfectly suitable to use in a boat slip to prevent hull damage or for similar applications.

  • Separating Brake and Turn Signals, Adding a Reverse Light, and Ramp Door Support for a Trailer
First, trailers in the US use what is called a combined 2-wire system. The brake lights and turn signals are on the same circuit on each side. The turn signal overrides the brake light on the side blinking. In order to have separate turn signals you would need additional amber turn signals and you would need to do some rewiring. On the trailer side you would need to install a special converter, # 118158. The combined left turn/brake wire connects to the yellow input wire, right turn and...

  • How to Install Redline Round Rubber Bumper # D3-96 on Trailer With 2-Inch Thick Material
Since the (presumably steel) material on your trailer is 2 inches thick drilling it for installation of the Redline Round Rubber Bumper # D3-96 is not a great option since this would require a lot of drilling time and extra-long hardware to install it. A better option may be to use an adhesive, one that is compatible with both the rubber bumper and the trailer surface. We offer white silicone adhesive # 0160297 but most any hardware or home improvement store will carry a range of colors,...

  • Can the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumpers # D3-96 be Trimmed Down
Yes, the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumpers # D3-96 that you referenced can easily be trimmed down to length so that it would fit your application. After going out into the warehouse and looking at the bumper I would recommend either using a utility knife to very carefully cut it, or securing the rubber tightly and using a sawz-all to make the cut.

Since the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Bumpers, part # D3-96, part # D2-96, and part # D4-96, are made of rubber I see no reason why you cannot drill out mounting holes so that they are custom to your hole patterns. If you will be using the full 96 inches of the bumpers then you may want to consider drilling more mounting holes in your trailer so that the bumper has more support. I recommend drilling out holes to match the rest of the pre-drilled holes to avoid more drilling. Keep in mind...
