This semi-custom SportRack roof rack easily installs on your vehicle's bare roof so you can carry extra cargo to your next destination. Adjustable, rotating footpads combine with an easy-to-use numbering system to make the rack conform to your roof for a good fit.

A unique numbering system is inscribed on the crossbars to aid in installation. This system corresponds to numbers noted in the easy-to-read application guide. First, find the number indicated for your car, and then slide the roof-rack feet along the crossbars until they line up with the appropriate number for your application. Tighten the feet in place with the included Allen wrench.

Refer to the application guide to find specific measurements that allow you to properly position the rack on your roof. To begin installing the roof rack on your vehicle, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Place the front crossbar first, and make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.

Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.

Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. After the front crossbar is positioned, review the instructions for the measurements needed to place the rear crossbar and repeat the same process for that crossbar.

Once everything is tightened down, place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.

Easy to assemble and, solidly built. Very easy/fast to mount/remove after assembly. The instructions are not all that clear for assembly of the combined sr1003 sr1116. I hope this photo will help. Note that the rubber feet remain on the back bar that crosses the car, but the hook that goes under the door frame is transferred to the sr1116 front to back extender bar.

I returned these racks because they would not fit securely on my 2015 Chev Colorado pickup.

by:
1997HondaCR-V

The rack was fairly easy to put on, do NOT over tighten the rectangular nuts on assembly. They are easy to strip. There are now backup nuts on all four bolts on our unit. Be careful to assure that the rubber pads are correctly positioned on the unit's "feet" before tightening it down on your roof. It looks good and on a recent trip from CT to TN and back, we got the best fuel mileage we've gotten since we bought our CRV over a year ago so it sure doesn't create a lot of drag! Once mounted it is sturdy and not unattractive although the side clamps do distort the door gaskets a bit which increased the wind sound level a bit. I think it is a good value if you are careful mounting it.

1994 Honda Civic

Overall good quality product. Installed super easy and self explainatory on my 1994 Honda Civic DX coupe 2dr. One thing though, the websites description about which vehicles this fits is misleading. Part #SR1003 is ONLY for 4dr vehicles. The only way it works with 2dr vehicles is if you have the SR1116 adapter. I almost made the mistake of ordering only the SR1003. Both of my civics are 2dr and if you order the SR1003 alone there is no way for the back bar to mount up far enough away from the front bar for you to carry anything. Glad I did extensive research before ordering. Will be using to carry kayaks.

The roof rack did not fit my vehicle, tried to return once I found out, but because it could not be returned in the box that it was delivered in I was not able to return. I looked at in my garage for 6 months and decided to throw away.

by:

The rails came exactly as pictured. The instructions are very easy to follow, you know once you decide that you probably should read them. The etrailer associates were very helpful, even when I hadn't asked for help. They seem passionate about customer satisfaction for sure! I would order again and would recommend etrailer highly.

The rack is still carrying my surfboard and hasnt left my car since I first bought it. It has worked just fine and has been everything I needed.

by:

I had to slightly modify the racks to fit my car, 98 civic hatchback, and one of the locks was broken out of the box. A bit of a pita. Yeah, the towers kept sliding off my roof when I tried to clamp them down so I had to cut the rubber pads and wedge the edge of the tower into the roof gutters. I already JB welded the lock back together, and the kit I think is definitely more for a sedan instead of a hatchback or coupe as the quarter glass fits too tightly to the roof and the clips can't fit between the gap. So both towers end up being really close together because the both have to go in front of the B pillar. That also puts everything at a slant on the roof. Also at the same time it's an older car and there's not a lot of available new roof racks for it so I get I'm kinda working with what I can find.

by:

What a great company! Bill, from customer service, was extremely helpful to me in answering questions about this roof rack, and making sure I got it in time before my trip! Thank you, Bill!

Sport rack arrived with several gouges in cross bars, manual DID not have my vehicle listed. After calling etrailer and then being referred to Thule I was able to get the info I needed for install. That being said, this is a one size kinda fits all unit, with all that that implies. You trade custom fit for price. Worth it? You'll have to decide for yourself. For me I'm only going to use this rack occasionally so it's worth the trade-off.

2002 Toyota Echo

Product has been great! Fits my 2002 Toyota well and very sturdy. I've hauled my ladder and Kayak on it with no issues. Love the locking feature on it as well. Thanks for a great product!

by:

This fit perfectly on my 1995 Honda Civic coupe. The short roof adapter was required for it to fit. Water can leak in through the doors while this is on, but luckily it doesn't rain much where I live. I've been using this to transport my surfboard and it's been working great!

The roof rack was easy to install and functions well. There is a little bit of wind noise that starts at about 35 mph. I bout this rack to replace a rack that was very loud and I am quite happy with it.

Site said it’s a perfect fit only to find out it didn’t even fit at all.

It is a SEMI-CUSTOM part. This is stated in the product description and the only time you will see the word perfect fit is in other customer reviews. Since this is a semi custom part it will never fit everything perfectly it is made to fit a lot of different vehicles so some will not be as good as others, it is just the nature of this beast Im afraid.

Great product. Very well designed and made of steel. Easy to install. Price point was good. Will be using it for hauling kayaks, bicycles, and camping gear.

  • Dimensions Needed to Install Sportrack Roof Rack on a 1999 Honda Civic 2 Door
I spoke with my contact at Sportrack and she gave me the dimensions you are looking for. The front bar scale is 20 inches. Rear bar scale is 19 inches. From right above where the rear of the front door meets the threshold forward the front bar sits 17-3/4 inches. The crossbar spread on center is then 23-1/2 inches.

  • How To Order Replacement Keys for SporRack Frontier Roof Racks
You will need to look at the lock cylinder and there should be a number etched into the metal there. That is the key number you will need to order the correct key. Most likely the number will start with the letter N or E and then have three numbers that follow it. For example if the cylinder had N152 on it you would want Replacement SportRack Key # THKEYN152. • Roof Rack Recommendation for a 1995 Honda Civic
For your 1995 Honda Civic 3 door hatchback the Sportrack roof rack part numbers # SR1003 and # SR1116 is a confirmed fit. A much better option would be the INNO part numbers # INB107, # INSUT, and # INJK, and # INK130. This is a custom fit rack that would fit much better.
