Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 1997 Honda Civic Coupe

Question:

Hi, im looking for a roof rack to carry a 10 and a half foot kayak on my 2 door 1997 Honda Civic EX. I am just a little concerned on what would be best considering the cross bars will have to be so much closer together since i do not have rear doors. Would a kit like this be suitable for my needs? Also Im not sure if this is a complete kit either? I would like to not pay for more then what I need but Any recommendations or advice to steer me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. The best economically priced roof rack option we have for a 1997 Honda Civic is the Sportrack roof rack that consists of part numbers # SR1003 and # SR1116. This rack has a short roof adapter that comes with it that allows the bars to be spaced a bit further out but still the spread is a bit close at 23-1/2 inches.

To carry a kayak on your car, SportRack offers kayak carrier # SR5511. This carrier has a kayak weight limit of 75 lbs.
