Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Ratchet Straps - Trailer - Truck Bed - Straps with Bag - e42NR

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the etrailer 30 foot long Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps with the flat hooks, has a 3,333 pound working load limit, and this is for a quantity of two straps with the storage bag. Now, these heavy-duty tie-down straps will let you secure your cargo in your truck bed or your trailer. They do use a nice sturdy ratchet mechanism here. If I zoom in, you'll be able to see it. This will make it very easy to tighten down the strap and maintain tension on the strap.

To tighten it, to ratchet, you just turn it just like that, and it'll pull the strap in and tighten it up. What's nice on this ratchet, they do use a long, wide, hard rubber handle, offers a nice good grip even if you're wearing gloves, and then right down here, it has a release lever that has a rubber edge to it, and basically, that release lever will disengage the ratchet when you're ready to unload. So if you just pull up on this, and then if you extend it all the way out this way, and lock it in that position, you'll notice that it allows you to free wheel and just pull out how much strap you need, just free wheel it out. Once you get out enough strap out, go to hook up, and then you go to tighten, just pull up on the release lever, put it in a ratchet, and then go ahead and ratchet it just like that into position. The other nice feature is when you get it all tight and you're ready to go, you just pull up on that release lever again, move it all the way down into the locked position, it has a safety lock on it, and that'll lock the handle in place, so it doesn't ratchet on its own.

So once you have it all tight, move it down in, lock it, you're all ready to go. Now, this does use the wide flat hooks on each end. This will let you anchor the strap to rails, edges, or other similar tie-down points, and the strap used on this you can see is a nice two inch wide durable polyester webbings, just like a seatbelt strap, it is abrasion resistant. If you noticed, it is a nice bright yellow color, it makes it very easy to see in day or night. Now, this does come with, this part number here comes with this nice, yellow, heavy-duty, water resistant carrying bag for storing the straps and transporting them.

Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna show you, we're gonna put these straps into the bag, show you how they fit. Quantity, this is for two ratchet straps. Again, the strap dimensions, two inches wide by 30 feet long each one, maximum load or brake strength is 10,000 pounds each, safe working load limit is a third of that, which is 3,333 pounds each. One note I do wanna mention is the tie-down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to that safe working load limit, meaning the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So just to give you an example of what we're talking about is if you're using straps, let's say have a working load limit of 500 pounds each, and you're tying down a load that's weighing 1,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load, and they do always recommend that you use the straps in pairs.

So what I wanna do now, I wanna go ahead and put these in the storage bag. You can see this nice very heavy-duty storage bag, has a nice handle, full length, heavy-duty zipper on it. So if we open it all the way up, and then what we're gonna do is we're gonna go ahead and just sort of wrap this up as small as we can get. And what we're gonna do is we'll go ahead and take the first storage strap, go ahead and put it in the bag. Once we go ahead and get it in the bag, get that one put down on the bottom, we'll go ahead and get our second one, do the same way. Sort of combine it all together, go ahead and put that in the bag. And once you get those all in the bag in place, we have to adjust it around to get the zipper to close. We'll go ahead and get the zipper and put our strap down in there. Go ahead and start the zipper and pull that close. Get everything put up there. And then again, you just have to (indistinct) it, there you go, have it all fully closed. Take our handles, just like that, now, you're all ready to go, you towed all those straps wherever you need to or store them. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer 30 foot long Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps with the flat hooks, has a 3,333 pound working load limit, and it is for a quantity of two straps with this nice heavy-duty storage bag.
