Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the JR Products Propane Hose. Like most of your propane hoses this is designed to allow your LP gas to flow through so you can power up those propane powered appliances.There are a few things that you want to look for when you are selecting a propane hose. You want to make sure that it's going to be able to work for your setup. So the first thing you want to look out for is the length.

Obviously you want it to be able to reach from point A to point B so that you can hook up those connections and let your propane flow through. This hose is two feet long, so as long as your point A and point B are less than two feet, it should work for you. It is a rubber hose, so that's going to help reduce the kinks and cracking. It's got an internal diameter of a quarter of an inch. That's going to be plenty of room for that propane to flow through so you shouldn't have any limitations.

It should power all your propane powered appliances without a problem.The next thing that you want to look for are your fittings. So you can see we've got two different hose fittings here. They might look similar but there are several different kinds of fittings out there on the market so you just want to make sure that you are getting the ones that you need for your setup. So this one here is a 3/8 inch female NPT fitting and that NPT is important. That's the way the threads are oriented.

So you want to pay attention to that. The other fitting we have here is a 3/8 female SAE swivel fitting. That swivel just means that that head can turn, so that's going to be easier to get threaded onto our fitting. We're not going to have to turn the whole hose to tighten that down. If you look inside there, you can see that it's kind of tapered down towards the bottom.

There are several different kinds of SAE fittings. This is a flare fitting. See that little taper there. That's where the male end will butt up. Once you have it tightened down, that's going to create your seal so that you don't get any gas leaks or anything like that. So you want to make sure that you do need the female SAE flare fittings.This hose is UL and CSA approved, so it's going to hold up to those high quality standards you can trust.
