Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the JR Products Propane Hose. Like most your propane hoses, this is designed to allow your LP gas to flow through, so you can get this connected on one point and have that gas flow through to the other point, so you can power up for propane powered appliances. When you're looking for a propane hose, there are a few things that I would recommend focusing in on, to make sure that this is going to work for you. The first thing is going to be the links.

Obviously, you want it to be able to reach from point A to point B, so you can make that connection. Your gas will flow through to where you need it to be. This hose is 6' long, so as long as you're point A and point B are less than 6' apart, this should work for you.The hose itself is a rubber construction, so it's going to help reduce the kinks and cracking. It has an internal diameter of 1/4", which is plenty of space for that LP gas to flow through, so you can power up those appliances. The next thing that you want to look for in your hose is the fittings.

So, there are several different kinds of LP gas fittings available. You want to check out your setup and make sure that you're getting the right fitting for your needs. Here we've got two have the exact same kind of fitting. These are your 3/8" female swivel SAE flare fittings. Let me break that down a little bit.

The 3/8" is obviously the measurement of the size, the diameter there. The swivel just refers to the fact that these can move like this. It's going to be easier to get them threaded onto our male end, rather than having to crank the hose to twist it. You get it tightened down. That little swivel is going to be very convenient, make it easy to get on.The SAE refers to the type of threads inside.

It's going to be a main distinction between this kind of connection and some of the others out there. And the flare, you can see on the inside there it's going to kind of taper down as you get closer to that center hole, and that's our flair. The male fitting will fit up right up against that. As you tighten it down, that will create a nice tight seal, so you're not going to get any gas leaks or anything like that.This hose is UL as well as CSA approved, so it's going to meet those high quality standards. You can trust it's going to do the job that you need it to do. You're not going to have to worry about it breaking down or anything like that. Now, if this isn't the hose that you need, maybe you need a longer hose, or you can get by with a shorter hose and it would work better for you. Maybe you need different fittings.
