Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at this Curt 18 inch long solid steel, three-inch hitch receiver tube in the raw finish. Now this Curt 18 inch long steel receiver tube can be used to extend the reach of your receiver or even a create a piece of custom towing equipment. The construction on this is a nice hot rolled steel for superior strength. If you notice, it is designed with rounded corners for greater versatility and it is designed to accept a three inch by three inch shank. If you notice on the outer edge here, it has a half inch reinforcing collar all the way around, to give an extra strength.
Does have the pre-drilled five eighths inch diameter hitch pinhole and as we mentioned, it is a raw finish, so it's all ready for welding. A few dimensions on this. The overall length from one end to the other, if we put a ruler on that, it's gonna be right at 18 inches long. And then we mention the internal dimension is gonna be right at three inches wide by three inches tall. And the last measurement I want to give you is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank.
So again, if we put a ruler on that, that's gonna be right at two and a half inches long. But that should do it for the review on this Curt 18 inch long solid steel, three inch hitch receiver tube in the raw finish.

- Recommended 24 Inch Hitch Extender for a 3 Inch ReceiverI have a hitch extension that will work with a weight distribution system but it is 24" long and there aren't any shorter ones. First you are going to have to use the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve item # C85JR to get your 3" receiver down to a 2-1/2"one. Then you will want the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer item # C45048. It comes in a 34" extension but you can trim it down to 24". This combination will give you a 8,000 lbs towing capacity when used with a weight distribution system....

It has a 3" x 3" outer diameter so it would fit inside the Curt Solid Steel 3" Hitch Bar # C55NR, but there would be no way to attach the Slide Kit # DM5942 since it sits on the outside of the # DM12808-97. - Recommended Hitch Receiver Tube For 2" and 2 1/2" HitchesHey Mitch, for that size receiver we only have the 18" Combo Bar with 2-1/2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # C49511 which is only 18" long. We do also have the Combo Bar with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # 2852 which hits your length requirement, but it's only a 2" receiver, unfortunately. I'd just recommend getting in touch with a local fabrication shop and see if they can drum something up for you. It's not a super outlandish request, so I'd imagine they'd be able to help you out.

Since this is a 3 inch hitch opening the capacity is going to be very high so I wouldn't worry about it breaking under normal circumstances.
