Can I Use The 22x60 Flint Hill Goods Cargo Carrier On A Travel Trailer
Question:
Hello Question regarding the 22x60 Flint Hill Goods Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches - 500 lbs. Item FHG49ZR. If I purchase I would be mounting to a Curt bumper hitch on a travel trailer and centering a 140 lb generator on the carrier. Are there speed limitations on the safety of this product? Obviously drive with care but does it matter if you go 60 mph or 70 mph? Also the roads everywhere are bad will it take the ruts in the road within reason? Thanks Don

Hello Don. So, there are technically no speed limitations when using the 22x60 Flint Hill Goods Cargo Carrier # FHG49ZR. Obviously, you will want to obey all posted speed limits and any other DOT regulations. The carrier is made to withstand bumps and ruts in the road within reason. If your roads are anything like ours here in Missouri, you are likely to run into a few potholes that are simply unreasonable, and in those scenarios, simply do your best to slow down and use caution. Basically, just drive as if you have a 140 lb generator on the back of your trailer. I also suggest you ensure that your bumper is rated for carrying this kind of weight.
All that said, I do think the # FHG49ZR will work very well for this purpose. We actually use one of these carriers here around the shop and it has proved to be sturdy. A few of our customers have reported back to us that is has worked well on the back of a travel trailer or 5th wheel, so it definitely comes highly recommended.
