hollywood racks e bike loaded

The TRS platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 standard or fat tire bikes on the rear of your vehicle. This rack uses ratcheting hooks, wheel stops, and straps to hold your bikes by the wheels with no frame contact. An anti-rattle, threaded hitch pin tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the receiver. Also, the rack tilts down with bikes loaded and folds up when not in use.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

trs hooks and wheel stops

The rack uses a wheel-mount design that allows you to quickly load and carry bikes with no frame contact. It includes wide wheel stops that accommodate tires up to 4-1/2" wide and padded, ratcheting hooks on pivoting arms that secure your bikes by the wheels. The release buttons allow each hook to slide up the ratcheting arm for bike removal.

trs wheel straps

The wheel trays accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 48" and include ratcheting wheel straps to keep your bikes in place.

Folding, Tilting Design

trs tilting rear hatch

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

trs folded

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, put the pivoting arms and wheel stops in the stowed position, pull the quick-release pin, and lift.

Easy Installation with Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin

trs hitch

The TRS easily installs in your trailer hitch receiver with the included hitch pin. This pin works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the tube. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and tighten it down with a 3/4" or 19mm wrench. Then, just insert the hitch pin clip.

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

available lock pin and cable

A hitch lock and cable lock set (sold separately) is also recommended for theft deterrence.

This rack has been great on my 2016 Nissan Rogue SUV, very sturdy and holds bike(s) securely. I've used it with a fat bike, a regular mountain bike, and a road bike. Amazingly this rack gave me a couple inches MORE clearance in my small garage than my previous hanging-style rack. The aluminum trays themselves are still in great condition, though other parts are showing some rust after 1+ years (and since I use it in the winter as well I leave it on most of the time). The tilt-down feature is great, but pulling the pin and reaching the knob to do this is awkward with bikes in place. When removing the bike, it can be hard to squeeze the lever on the hook that holds the front tire. (Maybe because of pressure when the hook is against the tire?)

Unfortunately this rack has not held up well over a few winters. Due to the racks weight and thevlimited space in my garage, I keep it mostly on the car where it gets exposed a lot to the weather. The rack is now noticeably rusted which affects the moving parts aside from being aesthetically displeasing.

@Katherine We're sorry to hear that, and we understand. The bike rack manufacturers recommend removing bike racks from the vehicle when they aren't being used. If some surface rust occurs, they all recommend giving the are a light sanding and shooting the area with a shot of rust inhibiting spray paint, as needed especially if you live in the rust belt.,

Still using this bike rack most every week for trail riding. It has been great. I suggest carrying a wrench with you to be sure the bolt is secure. Otherwise it gets lose and the rack wabbles

@Sarah That's great advice, thank you!

I've had this hitch for a day and used it just once on my Miata (class 2). Going on a trip tomorrow and will use it on a Nissan Frontier pickup (class 3). It seems like a quality hitch for a very good price. I feel like buying one of those other brands (named after cities) you are paying a premium for the brand name. Hollywood provides a great value without gouging my wallet. I like the aluminum rails and the entire system is easy to use. Just holding off one star since I've only had it for a day. As a bonus it arrived a day earlier than it was scheduled!

Great online help the box it came in was pretty beat-up all the parts were secured inside no damage to the carrier even the added security cable was in there

Thanks kaylan for all your help

Having had good experiences with etrailer.com in the past, buying from them again was a no brainer. When there was a problem with my past order, they stuck with me to a satisfactory resolution to the problem. After an auto accident where I was rear end and the bike rack destroyed, I salvaged what parts I could and saved them. I bought the same bike rack again. These racks ar easy to use, well made, and they hold the bikes securely. Once again I was in a wreck, and again, it destroyed the rack. I was able to combine the salvaged parts from both racks to make one good one. This ability and the excellent functionality of these racks make me a loyal fan and would buy it again if I ever need one. I highly recommend the HR3000 and a trainer.com hitch if you need it. They fit well and are sturdy.

I continue to be pleased with my experience with my bike rack. I’ve yet to need replacement parts or affect any repairs. I’m 72 y.o. And can still manage to put the rack on and off of my vehicle. That being said, I would love to see this rack made with aluminum.

by:

The Hollywood HR3000 is a very solid and well thought out platform bike rack. There were no missing parts and the instructions were not difficult to follow. We have a Subaru Forester and the rack installed, mounted and folded easily and worked as advertised. I'v used it once to carry a cyclocross bike and a mountain bike and both loaded and unloaded with no problems. The construction is "beefy" and should last a long time. It is a vast improvement over my previous rack and the extra cost is well worth it.

Very well! I havent changed my mind since my review one year ago.

replaced my hanging rack with the HR3000 for my custom bike weighing 47.8 lbs and couldn't be happier...this rack is very solid and transports my bike with ease...just returned from a 2 hr trip to and from my destination without any problem...great rack for the money...also e trailer shipped the rack same day I placed the order and I had it within days...happy customer.

excellent...still going strong

The carrier arrived well packaged and undamaged. It went together OK, but I did have to look on line for instructions. Instructions of some type would be nice just to inventory the parts. It fits a 1 and 1/4 receiver quite nicely. I used it today for the first time. Incredibly easy to load two bikes and they fit snug and secure. This carrier is a bit heavy but it is solid and extremely well built. It does all of the things you want a carrier to do. It also fits perfectly on my 2017 Subaru Forester. I cannot see why this carrier would not last a super long time, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic. Super easy to put the bikes on, very secure, not much wiggle at all while driving. We have used it probably hundred times and drive several hundred miles in the process. Excellent product.

by:

The quality is great. However, Our issue is that the bikes dont have enough bracing to stop them from tipping over. The rack is sturdy and solidly made but the tire tie downs and/or the bracket that pushes down on the tire isnt enough to keep the bikes secure. The metal bracket that the wheel fits into is nice but the bracket for the other tire is useless because it folds completely down so its not supporting the bike at all. We are going to buy rachet straps and tie downs to hopefully be able to use this bike rack. But as is, it needs more. We are disappointed.

by:

Economical and gets the job done. Works well with fat bikes with 4" tires. Some stupid human errors: I regret leaving it on full-time in the winter, but the hitchpin got a little sticky and at sub-zero temps, I got lazy. Plenty of salt damage, ie rust - that scrape and paint remedied for the next season. Also, be sure to fold down the front tire holders before stowing in the vertical position! I put a nice rub mark on my bumper before adding red tape to remind me not to be an idiot in a hurry. Overall, extremely fair price and road/grave/mtn/fat bikes all ride in secure comfort.

by:

The Hollywood bike rack we ordered has performed amazingly so far. I had never heard of the Hollywood brand before buying this one but I would definitely say it ranks up there with some of the more expensive brand racks. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

by:

Been using this hitch for over a year now and very pleased! Holds both my e-bike and hubby’s road bike safely and securely. We’ve driven long distances (NJ to FL) and other than a quick retighten, this bike rack has been great. I love the ease of loading and unloading my heavier bike without needing assistance! Highly recommend this model carrier!

by:

An excellent bike rack. Safe, solid, strong, and good-looking. Strong enough to carry my wife's ebike along with my road bike.
Reflectors on the back ends of the main frame help ensure it is noticed at night. Since I often leave the rack on my truck, folded with no bike on it, I added some stick-on reflectors on the bottom of the wheel trays.
Don't make this mistake: I left the ratchet wheel straps loose when I had no bike on the rack. Result is I lost one of the loose pads that belongs on those straps. So always run the end of the strap into the clip, even if you're not carrying a bike.
Kudos to etrailer for requesting this review a year after I bought the rack, instead of a week later like most e-retailers do.

by:

Fits our two beach cruisers perfectly!! Hitch on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Love the ease of installation of rack & bikes. Tilt down & fold up feature is awesome. Came with hitch lock too.
I will admit the rack is very heavy, but I’m 67 yrs old & can still install by myself. For now. Lol

by:

Overall very satisfied with the bike rack! It has been very durable and easy to operate. The only issue I have had is one of the cable locks that I ordered with it failed pretty quickly. Honestly the cable locks look pretty weak anyway. Also the locking hitch pin was too short to go through my class 4 factory Chevy 2500 HD truck. However, I would highly recommend the rack.

by:

This hauler exceeded my expectations! Very well built...it’s solid! The 3” tires on our heavy ebikes fit perfectly in the channels. The straps & over-the-tire securing bar all keep the bikes free from any movement. The supplied thread-in locking hitch pin is completely eliminates any hitch sway...=awesome! The only issue I have is more situational: my Jeep Patriot hitch does not allow the rack to be tilted into the upright position. About an inch before completely vertical the rack catches on the bumper. So I will not be leaving the rack installed unless it is being used. Despite this issue, I am very happy with another purchase and great product from etrailer!

by:

Shipment arrived very quickly in a carton box. There is an assembly manual together with the necessary tools, all included. Assembly was pretty easy, although more and better diagrams would be helpful to the describe assembly in the manual a little better. One of the nuts (½"-13) was missing, otherwise everything was complete. We are looking forward to using this bike rack on our different cars which have either 2" or 1-1'4" hitches. We also chose this rack because it holds the bikes by the tires instead of the frame - bike frames can vary vastly (one of our bikes is a recumbent).

by:

Very Happy with the rack but disappointed lock was not included. Just purchased but had to pay $4.99 shipping.

Wonderful Love it. Bikes stay secure and don’t rub against each other

by:

Customer service helped me pick out the right bike rack for my two 50 pound bikes. I have the Hollywood HR3000. My daughter and I took our bikes out for a ride, we had to go up and down a long bumpy gravel driveway the bikes stayed in place with little movement. I feel very confident hauling our bikes and feel that they are very secure when traveling.

by:

I purchased a carbon fiber bike and didn't want to use the frame clamp bike rack I already. This rack uses wheel clamps, works great.

by:

Excellent service from Etrailer and the Hollywood rack is very high quality. Using the rack to transport Fat Tire electric bikes for surfing at Trestles.

Highly recommend the product and Etrailer. A+++++++++ company.

by:

Appears to be well made. Easy to install. Bikes are stable when moving. Getting the rack on/off the car is a challenge because it has to be bolted to the hitch. No locks for the bikes is a shortcoming.

by:

We use this rack frequently to haul bikes to our favorite riding places. We also used it to transport our son's bike across the country. This rack is easy to use and works great.

by:

The company acknowledged my order within minutes, shipped it the next day. It arrived in perfect condition 48 hours later. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The hubby had it together and on the Buick in about 45 minutes. The first test drive went great. Next time we use it will be a 1600 mile trip from Florida to Minnesota. The return flight of the rare and exotic snowbirds. PS. The local bike shop priced this model at $xx.xx. more than what we paid from this website. I'm glad I found etrailer.com

by:

Overall does the job. Some weak points: the tire bars don't lock in place, so they can slip up (or down). A few extra bungies takes care o that. This is also very heavy; so if you have a small vehicle, you might want to look at something with more plastic, less steel.
