Recommended Bike Rack That Will Work With ElliptiGO MSUB

Question:

Hi The Elliptigo MSUB has an advertised WHEELBASE of 47.2” 120cm The rack transfer states it has a max wheelbase of 47 Do you think the rack will work for this bike? Thanks!

The Kuat Transfer is a nice rack but won't work with the 47.2" wheelbase on your ElliptiGO MSUB; it's just too wide to fit the 47" wheelbase limitation of the Transfer.

There are a couple of options I recommend checking out, and all are wheel-mounted racks like the Transfer due to the frame of the ElliptiGO not being conducive to a frame-mounted rack.

A very solid option is the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4025F.

The SuperClamp EX has a 48" maximum wheelbase, is simple to use with a push lever to fold and tilt, is lightweight at just 35 lbs, and even has a 5" rise in the shank which is going to allow you to have the best ground clearance so you don't run into any issues with the rack possibly hitting the ground. It also has an integrated lock to secure the rack to your hitch and your bike to the rack, which are important protections for your investments.

Another option to take a look at is the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02443 (if you have a 2" hitch) or # Y02445 (if you have a 1-1/4" hitch).

The HoldUp is similar to the SuperClamp in a lot of ways, and works with bikes that have a wheelbase up to 47-3/4" so your ElliptiGO will work. However, both versions are 49 lbs so they are heavier and its hooks also grasps your bike by a single wheel as opposed to the Saris which holds your bikes by both wheels.

The budget option is the Hollywood Racks TRS 2-Bike Platform Rack # HR3000. Like the Saris SuperClamp this fits 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and works with a wheelbase up to 48". At 52 lbs this is the heaviest rack to use, doesn't have the ease of use of the SuperClamp or HoldUp, and also requires locks to be purchased separately at Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Lock # HRLHPTC. Still, if you are looking for the most budget-friendly option the TRS is it.

I have added links to video reviews and installation instructions for you to check out as well.
