This Curt bike rack makes it easy to carry 2 fat bikes on the back of your vehicle. The platform-style rack is easier to load than a hanging rack because you don't have to lift your bikes nearly as high to get them into place. Ratcheting hooks and wheel hoops accommodate 2 bikes of most shapes and sizes. The entire rack tilts down for easy access to your cargo area, even while the bikes are loaded. And you can choose between 2 different ways to fold the rack up for storage on your vehicle when it's not in use.
Each center mast has 2 ratcheting hooks that move up and down independently of one another. This allows you to carry up to 2 bikes of different heights or with different frame styles. The hooks firmly grip your bikes by the top tubes, and they are cushioned to protect your bike frames from scratches and scuffs. Once you slide the hooks into position, just lock them in place.
The wheel hoops are designed to fit fat bike tires up to 4-7/8" wide. These sturdy, adjustable wheel hoops let you carry bikes of different lengths. Use the built-in knobs to loosen the hoops. Then slide the hoops to the desired position along the platform base and tighten them into place.
The rack also comes with 2 sets of standard-size wheel holders that fit bike tires up to 3" wide, giving you the option to carry any combination of 2 fat or standard bikes.
The entire rack can be tilted down - away from your vehicle - so that you can easily access your rear cargo area, even when your bikes are loaded. Just pull the pin at the base of the rack to tilt it down.
There are 2 ways that you can fold up the rack to store it on your vehicle when it's not in use. Option 1 lets you fold the cradle arms up towards the upright mast. Simply remove the pins and fold up the arms. Then replace the pins to secure the arms in the upright position. Option 2 lets you fold the rack up against the rear of your vehicle. First, lower the center mast by removing its pin and clip at the base and then fold the mast down forward. Then remove the pins from the base of the rack and fold up the carrier.
This rack comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin. The threaded pin holds the bike rack in your hitch, and it reduces noise and movement of the rack inside your hitch. An adapter sleeve is included as well, which allows the rack to fit either a 1-1/4" or a 2" hitch receiver. Because this bike rack has a threaded shank, it is not compatible with standard hitch locks.

Hauling carrier and was assemble on May 20th. Assembly went fairly well according to the instructions. As yet have not hauled my ebike but will do so on May 30th.Unit is fairly heavy to handle but I am sure necessary to handle two heavy bikes.
I received the rack quickly. I suspected there would be damage when I saw the shipping box. One of the wheel hoops was bent. Contacted etrailer and was told I could return the product. I didn’t have the time to return it because of a planned trip. I’ve used the rack as is. Easily adjusts to different bikes and works just fine.
Easy to put on the vehicle, holds our e-bikes securely, and very easy to operate. We love our bike rack!!

I received the C18085-FB Fat Tire Bike Rack yesterday. It took me about 1/2 hour to assemble the pieces. The instructions could be a bit more clear, especially when it comes to the washers but I figured it out. It appears to be a quality product. I have not had the chance to try it out but eTrailer was very helpful in helping me on the purchase.
It came in 2 boxes because I ordered the Fat Tire mount which included for regular or mounting bike tire holders as well. You would pay an additional $50.00 or so to get the tire holders that are required for fat tire bikes. My tires width measures 4" wide. Another nice feature is it can support 1 1/4" or 2" hitches. It is harder to find a bike rack for fat tire bikes that would work with a 1 1/4" hitch. Most only support 2".

I feel like I scammed a bit. I think I bought both the regular bike rake and a set of wheel things for fat tires. When I thought I was just getting one set of wheel things.

You mentioned that you believed that you were just receiving one set of wheels with the bike rack. This bike rack does come with 2 sets of standard-size wheel holders and 2 set of fat bike tire holders to give you the option to carry any combination of 2 fat or standard bikes.
How you guys advertise is miss leading. You should have the weights of what the bike rack can handle. Got the bike rack and to find out in the installation manual it wasn't big enough. Then to top it off you charged me xxx.xx to send it back.
It’s exactly what I needed to travel with my fat tire bike. I have an SUV but my bike is so big it will not fit in the back. So this rack serves it’s purpose perfectly. Solid and well-built item. I would recommend it highly!…
I bought this for our fat bikes after a lot of frustration with our previous hitch rack that was your typical hang by the frame style. This rack is so easy to use with two fat bikes and allows easy access to the hatchback of our SUV with removing just two pins even while loaded with bikes. It also sits high enough that it does not scrape the ground when backing out of steeper driveways like our other rack. I would recommend this rack to anyone looking for a platform rack for any style bike (we bought the additional tire platforms for our other bikes with narrower tires).

Great bike rack. Came with two sizes of wheel widths one set for fat tire bikes. Went together easily and didn’t wobble.
I received it in just 2 days, I just installed this rack with no issues other than it rocks really bad in the receiver.

Thank you for your review. This curt bike rack part # C18085-FB comes with an adapter to make it fit into a 1-1/4 or a 2 hitch. I am not sure which size hitch you have but you may want to make sure the adapter is flipped to the correct size to fit into your hitch. If you have a 2 hitch and the adapter is on the 1-1/4 side then it will rock back and forth in the hitch. If you have it on the correct side then an anti-rattle device such as a roadmaster quiet hitch will help. The quiet hitch will tighten up the space between the bike rack and the hitch receiver. If you have a 2 hitch then you will need part # RM-061. If you have a 1-1/4 hitch you will need part # RM-061-125.
easy to put on hitch. folds to a compact size for storage. very pleased with it.
I haven't driven anywhere with it yet but I put it together and put the bike on it and secured it. Very easy to set up. Etrailer is on the ball! Every time I have ordered with them, they have come through for me!
I have not actually used the bike rack yet. Having said that, it is a solid heavy duty unit that went together nicely.
The rack arrived on time, was very easy to install and is just great. The price was so affordable, the video very informative, the overall experience was beyond my expectations. I am 80 years young and was hesitant about purchasing an electric bike, so this was a new experience for me. Thanks.
