Recommended Platform 2 Bike Rack for Fat Tire Bikes on 2014 Subaru Forester
Question:
What is the max tire width that this can hold? Is it capable of holding a fat bike tire?

I have a solution for you.
I recommend using the Hollywood Racks TRS 2-Bike Platform Rack # HR3000 which can accommodate tires up to 4-1/2" wide and bikes weighing up to 50-lbs each. The TRS can be used on either 1-1/4" or 2" hitch receivers, while still allowing you to fold it up towards the vehicle for storage when not in use; plus this rack will tilt away from the rear cargo area of your 2014 Subaru Forester to allow you to access that when the rack is installed. Like the Doubletrack, this is a platform style rack that will allow you to easily load and unload your fat tire bikes without having to lift them up like you would using a hanging rack.
Since the TRS does not come with locks included, I recommend also adding the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Lock Set # HRLHPTC to provided added security for your bikes and the rack itself.
