Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at Thule's hitch extender for two-inch receivers. This hitch extender extends your two-inch hitch receiver opening out from the rear of your vehicle to avoid obstacles such as a rear mounted spare tire. The two pin holes are going to let you choose between seven inches or nine inches of extra length. It also provides a 2 1/4 inch drop for trucks with a tailgate or a rise for ground clearance over steep driveways and uneven terrain.
The anti-rattle hitch pin that is included is going to secure this extender to your vehicle. This is made in the USA of durable black powder coated steel that's going to resist corrosion. The weight capacity is 250 pounds. I'm gonna pull out my tape measure here and give you some overall dimensions. Looking at the overall length, we are sitting right at 13 7/8 inches long.
And the height, we are sitting right at 4 1/2 inches tall. And at the widest point, we are sitting right at 2 1/2 inches wide. Now, this itself weighs about 10 pounds and it does have a limited lifetime warranty. Again, this will include the anti-rattle hitch pin, the tightening tool for that hitch pin, and also instructions to help you installing this to your hitch receiver. It is important to note that this adapter is designed to carry a bike rack only.
So, do not use this to tow a vehicle or trailer. And when using a hitch mounted accessory such as a bike rack, the tongue weight of your hitch will be reduced by at least 50%. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.
Thank you for joining me..

I had to adapt my bike rack my new suv: A flat 12” extender put the rack out too far for most parking spaces, and a 7” didn’t allow the gate-mounted spare to clear the rack. Enter Thule design. The 7” hole with the 2” drop feature is perfect, and having the 9” extension option is just really thoughtful and perhaps what other users need. Also, etrailer was great to work with as I went through the process of experimentation and returns. Thanks.
