I bought a used trailer and wanted to replace the gooseneck coupler and redesign the frame connection. I had a number of goals in this replacement.
1) Extend radius of the frame neck. Was 73in increased to 90in.
2) Move frame connection to a lower area of tube.
3) Increase surface area frame contacts tube and add collars to tube for increased surface area for cross tube pin.
4) Convert from gooseneck to fifth wheel style connection but allow revert back if wanted.
5. Add cover over top of tube to shed water from entering tube sections. (4in PVC pipe cap with a little dremel work fits great)
6. Replace safety chains with weld on chain mounts to frame. Allow chain replacement without welding chain to frame.
7. Provide covered area for safety chains and wiring to avoid weather.
After much welding and fitting the new tube and post insert are finished and painted. I am very pleased with the quality of the items from etrailer and will be placing more orders in the future for trailer parts.
Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to inadequate packaging and it comes without paint/primer. No damage due to packaging. Easy enough to paint after receiving. Like this brand for the bigger surface area on fifth wheel compared to others. Well made and quality welding.

I ordered the Bulldog adapter because I believe their quality is good. The construction of the Bulldog hitch adapter was good. However, the 4” tube was not perfectly round, approximately.030 out of round. This shouldn’t have been an issue, but since my trailer is used and had a Temco hitch originally, the tube wouldn’t slip in. I chucked the Bulldog in the lathe and skimmed .030 of the diameter and it went right in. This review is not written to criticize Etrailer or Bulldog. Just be aware if you’re working with a different brand hitch other than what is listed, there is a possibility of fitment issues.
My expectation when I unboxed the unit was that it would be a brand new unit. This unit looks like it had been made up and peicemealed from random gooseneck parts. I am reluctant to use this unit because I am questioning the workmanship of the welds.

We painted the square tube/king pin tube red and installed it. Works great, but there is not much of it to see in the pic. Take my word, well built & very heavy duty!!

I ordered this product and received it 3 days later, I took about 1 hour to remove the gooseneck tube and install this one and get the height set for towing, removed it once again and painted it due to it being bare metal. So far this seems to be a quality product.
Ordered on Friday afternoon and received the following Tuesday. Very simple installation. No longer have to crank the gooseneck up or down to connect to truck. Very satisfied with this product and the price was very reasonable.
Great product. Very well built. I am a farmer and use it to hook up a goose neck trailer to our semi. We use the trailer to haul hay, machinery, or even cattle. What's great about this product is that you can move it from trailer to trailer. This adapter will fit in a gooseneck trailer with the pin running through the side or with the bolts on the front. Overall great product for the farm.
Bought this so my wife could load and unload our 30' flatbed easier. The gooseneck required her to climb into the bed and was hard for her to line up. This adapter installed in less than 60 seconds and has made her new career as a hot shot driver that much more enjoyable. I couldn't be more happier.
I have ordered alot from etrailer and always been pleased , last week I ordered a 5th wheel conversion for my gooseneck trailer then went outside and literally cut my gooseneck hitch off , i then got a call from etrailer saying the part I ordered was backordered and was not available .while I was disappointed I was so glad called me immediately and was able to come up with a alternative . Works great. Now I don’t have to use the tractor to pull the heavy B&W hitch with the pog system everytime I need to pull the gooseneck. I did have to drill the holes for the pin since the coupler was not a bulldog brand. Pulls better on the king pin than the gooseneck ball also.

The adapter is really well built. The welds are great and the raw material was easy to paint. The problem I encountered was the fourth and lowest adjustment hole could not be reached due to the four pieces of triangular support stock hitting my Big Tex trailer neck tube before the hole would line up for the pin. So I had to take my cutoff wheel and trim 1/2” off those four pieces of triangular support metal so the adapter would go up further in the neck and the pin could be inserted. I hate working on new equipment but it’s easier than returning it and losing time.
Worked like a charm, haul for a living and slides right in every circle gooseneck hitch. Only recommendation for company for buyers is to clear coat it because when not in use it will surface rust with in a couple days. Otherwise affordable quality buy!
