with these fittings and transmission oil cooler on my 2000 Ford F350 superduty powerstroke diesel has lowered my temps by 15 degrees.
Thanks

I have a 99 Ford F250 4WD 7.3 diesel with 191,000 miles. I am on my 4th transmission. I pull a horse trailer once a year to Colorado or Wyoming from E Texas on an elk hunt. Other than that, maybe a camper or horse trailer hauled to my deer lease 100 miles away. I finally added a temp gauge to the last one. Now I was seeing that my tranny was running around 205 just pulling my trailers up a small grade around my county. Outside temp around 90. I replaced the original Ford cooler with one from Ford. Same results. I did research on my own and stumbled on to Etrailer.com and articles of the Derale 8000. I had this put on by my radiator man. He wanted to mount it above the Ford cooler to get max airflow. He had to fabricate some brackets and use some other hose connectors as the ones furnished didn't fit right. Not a problem for me as this thing has finally solved my problems. I ran the same route with my horses loaded in the trailer(est 6000# total wt). The temp gauge registered 170 to 175. That is a drop of 30 to 35 degrees. I now feel confident when I go to Colorado in a few weeks that I won't be broke down on side of road with overheated tranny and buying another tranny when I return. Etrailer shipped product very fast. I am overly happy regardless of it not just fitting perfect.

I installed the Derale D13503 in series with my existing factory installed auxillary cooler for added protection on my Ford Explorer Sport Trac. With the Sport Trac tranny having the reputation for overheating failure, I took the cooling up a notch! I tow a 7X14 enclosed v-nosed trailer, and now I am protected! It was a very easy install, and the included hardware made it pain-free :-)

As a returning coustomer I can say all my dealings with atrailer have been great.
Great product, price, shipping and the very best coustomer service.
Product fit perfect and preformed as expected.
Will be back in the future when I need products etrailer sells
Thanks

Great product at a good price , makes adding a trans cooler easy.
fast shipping too.

by:

Does not work on 99 F250 7.3L. The flare sides of the fittings are to long and deep to use with the existing cooler and fittings.

by:

Recommended for the transmission cooler install .... Did not see where it was needed.

by:

Just what I needed.Got it in a couple of days.

  • Transmission Cooler Radiator Adapter Kit for 2007 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0 V6
The Derale Radiator Adapter kit # D13025 is intended to connect to 5/8-inch fittings in the radiator of your 2007 Mountaineer. These parts then allow hose connection to the supplementary cooler you're installing, such as Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13504. Please refer to the linked review video that shows this cooler installed. Please send along a photo of the harness end you are referring to and we can assist further.

  • Recommended Towing Products To Allow 2000 Ford F-150 To Safely Tow 3000-4000lb Boat Trailer
I would be happy to help, but there are a few items you listed that are not commonly used on a boat trailer. Typically boat trailers do not use electric trailer brakes thus eliminating the need for a trailer brake controller or controller wiring harness. Boat trailers more commonly use surge brakes which are hydraulic and use a surge brake coupler to control the braking force. Some surge brake actuators use an electric reverse lockout solenoid, so if the boat trailer you purchase has one...

  • Parts Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler in a 2000 Ford F-150
You will also want to use the Derale fitting part # D13025 with the Derale transmission cooler part # D13504 as this will allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any metal lines. • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2009 Ford F-150
Both the Derale Transmission Coolers # D13503 and # D13504 referenced in your question are great options for your 2009 Ford F-150. Between the two options, I recommend going with the Derale # D13504, as its slightly larger size will allow for a greater cooling capacity. The unit measures 11 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. As long as you have the required space behind the grille of your F-150, this cooler will work perfectly. If your F-150 has the 1/2"-20 thread on the...

Yes we have transmission coolers that will work great installed on your 2003 Ford F-150 with a 5.4 liter V8 engine like the larger and very efficient Derale # D13504 that requires the adapters # D13024 and # D13025.

  • Transmission Cooler for a 2001 Ford F-350 Super Duty
You can use any transmission cooler on any automatic transmission whether it is 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, or all wheel drive. The only time it can be a problem is on CVT transmissions and on vehicles where there is no easy access to the fluid lines. The most popular cooler for a 2001 Ford F-350 is # D13503. The cooler measures 11 inches wide by 8-3/4 inches tall by 7/8 inches deep. You will also need hose fitting # D13025 so you will not have to cut and flare lines to install the cooler....

  • How Many Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings Are Required for Cooler Installation on 2006 Ford F-150
When adding the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13504 you will only need one of the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury # D13025. This comes with 2 adapter fittings for installation on your 2006 Ford F-150. The male threaded end of the fitting goes into your vehicle's radiator. The female end adapter attaches to the line you removed from the radiator that runs to your transmission. The other end of each fitting is a hose barb where a rubber...

  • Special Fitting Needed to Install Supplemental Transmission Cooler on a 2011 Lincoln Navigator
You are correct. Fitting # D13025 threads into the radiator on your 2011 Lincoln Navigator so you will not have to cut or flare the metal lines to install a supplemental cooler. A cooler such as # D13503 includes the hose, clamps, and hardware to mount it so the fitting # D13025 is the only other part you'd need. They are the appropriate size to match the lines to/from the transmission. The fluid will flow from the transmission, into the stock cooler located inside the radiator, then...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2007 Ford F-150 with V6 Engine
The Derale cooler part # D13503 is a fit for your 2007 Ford F-150. This cooler is very universal in what it can fit and your Ford truck would work well with it. For the quick install fittings the part # D13025 would be what you need if you have 5/8"-1/8 lines or part # D13024 for 1/2-20 fittings.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2004 Ford F-150 Towing in Mountains
Do you mean 4 wheel low 1 or low 2 gearing for your truck? You should keep the truck in 2 wheel drive when towing if you are on dry pavement. Putting the vehicle into 4 wheel drive will cause damage if you are on dry pavement. It would be a really smart idea to install a transmission cooler on your truck if you haven't installed one already. For that I recommend the Derale part # D13503 which is larger and very efficient. You'll also want the fittings part # D13024 and # D13025 to make...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2011 Ford Escape
I found the expert answer you referenced where Jeff said to check the owners manual for restrictions on towing. He meant that you should check to make sure your vehicle is rated for towing the trailer you are planning on towing from a weight capacity point of view. There would be no restrictions on installing a transmission cooler aside from the available space on your vehicle. You would want the to route the transmission fluid from your factory cooler in your radiator to the aftermarket...

  • Weight Distribution System For 1997 Mercury Mountaineer Towing Aspen Trail Trailer
I was able to find the owners manual for the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer and the 2-wheel drive can tow 6,700 lbs and the all-wheel drive can tow 6,500 lbs. Since the dry weight of the trailer is 4300 lbs more than likely you will be right at the towing capacity of the Mountaineer when the trailer is loaded. Because you are close to your towing capacity of the Mountaineer I definetly recommend a weight distribution system but the Curt Weight Distribution System with Shank - Pin-Style Trunnion...

There are two different options for your 2010 Ford F-150 for adapter fittings to use with the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504. Using a different adapter size is not going to cause any issues, and you are going to need to know the size of your fittings, or measure to determine due to there being two potential options for your 2010 F-150: - 1/2"-20 Thread: Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford and Lincoln # D13024 - 5/8"-18 Thread: Derale Radiator Adapter...

I recommend using the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504 as it is one of our larger transmission coolers and will help to keep your transmission temps cooler. You will need the Adapter Fittings # D13024 and # D13025 to tie into your transmission fluid cooling lines. Unfortunately, we do not have any installation videos on a vehicle similar to your 1999 Ford F-150 at this time.

  • Is Factory Transmission Cooler Bypassed With New Cooler Installed on a 2007 Ford F-150
No, when you install a transmission cooler, you are installing it as a supplemental system to assist the factory system. You would not want to bypass the factory cooler as that would not be nearly as beneficial, even if the new cooler is larger than the old one. The preferred method is to use the insta-dapt fitting at the radiator in the return line that takes fluid back to the transmission. Instead, you will have this line go to the inlet of the new cooler. The outlet will then be ran...

  • Weight Distribution and Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2007 Mercury Mountaineer
You'd want to check with a Ford dealer. I wasn't able to get a specific towing capacity for your vehicle but it looks like the capacity range is between 3,500 and 6,930 lbs. If your capacity is good with the weight of your trailer the weight distribution system you'd want is the Pro Series part # PS49582 which has a tongue weight range of 550 to 750 like what your trailer has. Then for a transmission cooler you'd want the # D13503 with the fitting adapter part # D13025. This is a very...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 2002 F-350 with the 7.3L Diesel
Transmission fluid should run below 200 degrees Fahrenheit. At 240 degrees you definitely need to make some sort of change to reduce the temperature. I would first recommend having the transmission checked by a qualified automotive technician to be sure it is performing properly. This will assure you that no damage has been caused to the transmission and you will not be stranded. Installing a transmission cooler will not reverse any damage that may have already been caused. • Recommendation for a Supplemental Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 Liter Engine
Based on the information you have provided, which I greatly appreciate, a standard supplemental cooler should be sufficient for your needs. Ideally you want the transmission temperature to be no more than 200 degrees F. Mounting a larger cooler directly behind the grille (in front of everything else) such as # D13504 should get you to the ideal range. You will also want fitting # D13025 so you will not have to cut and flare any lines. A remote cooler with its own fan will provide the optimum...

I recommend placing the cooler after the factory transmission cooler (radiator).
