Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2004 Ford F-150 Towing in Mountains  

Question:

I have an f150 rated at 8200 lbs. my trailer weights 5600. Do you recommend L1 or L2 while towing up a mountains? Please advise

Do you mean 4 wheel low 1 or low 2 gearing for your truck? You should keep the truck in 2 wheel drive when towing if you are on dry pavement. Putting the vehicle into 4 wheel drive will cause damage if you are on dry pavement. It would be a really smart idea to install a transmission cooler on your truck if you haven't installed one already. For that I recommend the Derale part # D13503 which is larger and very efficient. You'll also want the fittings part # D13024 and # D13025 to make tapping into the coolant lines much easier.
