  • Will the Derale 26" Radiator Fan Fit My 1977 Corvette?
The Derale 26" Dual High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan w/Aluminum Shroud Assembly - 4,000 CFM # D16842 will fit your 1977 Corvette as long as there is space within your hood for you to install it. Since the fan comes with all the mounting brackets, hardware and installation instructions, you will not need to have any additional parts for the fan to activate manually. If you took out the factory fan, there will most likely be enough room for you to attach the Derale fan. I went ahead and...

  • Locating Correctly Rated Electric Fan to Cool Engine on 1986 Chevy P30 Chassis
We do have a large selection of electric radiator assemblies available, such as the excellent Derale 26" Dual High-Output # D16842 that you were looking at, but the exact CFM requirements to cool the engine in your 1986 Chevy P30 is going to be difficult to pin point. This is because the requirements will be different among vehicle manufacturers and will vary depending on your particular application (towing, long distance trips, outside temperature, etc). The Derale # D16842 has a high...

  • Replacing Clutch Radiator Fan with an Electric Fan on a 1999 GMC Yukon
Pushers are more efficient and more common. A puller is typically only installed when you don't have enough room between your engine and your radiator. It looks like your 1999 GMC Yukon has a 5.7 L V8 engine which means you would want to shoot for a CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) range of 2,200 - 3,000. The most popular fan that we have in this range is the Derale 17" Radiator Fan # D18217 which has an output of 2,400 CFM. When it comes to fitting your vehicle it really just depends on what...

  • Recommendation of Electric Fan for 1988 Ford Ranger With 2.9L Engine
When choosing an electric fan for your vehicle you will want to make sure to get a fan that will give you the correct Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) for the size of your engine. The CFM is how much air is being moved through your radiator in one minute. The typical CFM requirement for a 6 cylinder engine is 1,600 to 2,000. If your 1995 Ford Ranger is used for towing you will want additional airflow. It is always recommended to go with the highest rated fan. I am including a link to a FAQ...

  • Cooling Options For Chevy Express 3500 When Towing a 30 Foot Travel Trailer
Since you have already added an aftermarket transmission cooler to your Chevy Express 3500, you can make sure you have it mounted in the most efficient location for cooling. The ideal place to mount an aftermarket transmission cooler is behind the front grille but in front of the radiator of your vehicle. Adding an electric fan like the item you selected, Derale Radiator Fans, part # D16834, will help reduce engine temperatures and would be a good option. You will need to measure to make...

  • 1956 Chevy Electric Radiator Fan Recommendations
In order to determine the correct fit fan for the front of the radiator on your 1956 Chevy you will need to measure the area in front of your radiator and determine how much room you have to work with. The Derale Radiator Fan # D18910 that you referenced has overall dimensions of 11-1/2 inches wide by 10-3/4 inches tall and 2-3/8 inches deep. If you find that you have room in front of your radiator for a fan with these dimensions then this fan should work for you. However, you should...

  • Recommended Electric Radiator Fan for a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer
I do have a way for you to determine fit but I don't have any measurements of your 2002 Chevrolet Blazer so what you will need to do in order to confirm fit of the Derale 29" High-Output Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly part # D16928 is measure the space you have behind your radiator. This unit requires 28-5/8" wide x 13-7/8" tall x 3-1/4" deep of space to mount. If you have a clutch fan then you need to be especially careful of the depth measurement. If you do not have space...

  • Does The Derale 16 Inch Tornado Electric Fan # D16516 Include a Thermostatic Control
You will be able to add a thermostatic control to the Derale 16 Inch Tornado Electric Fan # D16516, but it does not come included. I would recommend the Derale Thermostat Fan Control, part # D16735, which will turn the fan on at 180 degrees. This thermostat kit will work with the Derale Tornado Electric Fan # D16516. This Derale Fan is rated at 2,175 Cubic Feet Per Minute (CFM), and would be good for a 4 or 6 cylinder motor. I have linked an FAQ on electric fans that includes a chart...

  • Thermostat Fan Control # D16735 Recommendation for Use with a Derale Radiator Fan # D18910
Yes, we offer a thermostat system that will engage this Derale 10 inch Dyno-Cool Curved-Blade Electric Fan # D18910 that would be independent of the thermostat of your factory fan. You would want a Derale Premium, Single-Stage Thermostat Fan Control with Dual Probes # D16735. This system uses probes that will either screw into the water jackets of your engine, or a push-in radiator probe that will engage the fan when the coolant gets up 180 degrees and then shut the fan off when the coolant...

  • Tips for Choosing an Electric Radiator Fan for a 1988 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with 2.9 Liter Engine
Electric fans like # D18214 are not vehicle specific so if you have the space to install the fan you can use it on your 1988 Ford Ranger. This fan can be mounted on either side of the radiator to either push air through it or pull air through it. If you are using the fan to supplement the factory fan then just make sure that the two fans are not working against each other. For example if the factory fan pulls air through the radiator then the supplemental fan needs to be on the other side...

  • How to Activate Derale 14 Inch High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan
Good question; to activate the Derale 14" High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan - 2,100 CFM # D18214 you can use either a manual switch or a thermostatic fan control, both of which we do have. The switch will allow you to simply turn the fan on or off when you deem appropriate, while the thermostatic control engages at its determined temperature, which in the case of this fan and control is 180 degrees. - Switch: Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans # D16740 - Thermostat...

  • Are Fans in Derale Radiator Fan # D16927 Recessed Into the Shroud, Available Fans without Shroud
The fans are mounted to the surface of the shroud on Derale Radiator Fan, # D16927, for a total depth of 3-3/4 inches, but there is little to no extra shroud available to trim back (only about 5/8 of an inch at most), as the fan does protrude a little into the shroud. It is not recommended to modify the part as it will void the warranty and possibly cause unwanted performance. Fans can be purchased without the shroud attached. Take a look at the Derale Fan, # D18214. This fan can be mounted...

  • Electric Radiator Fan for a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder
The type of electric fan you use in your 1995 Nissan Pathfinder is going to depend on how much space is available under the hood. There are fans as small as 4 inches diameter and 2-3/8 inches deep and as large as 32 inches and 3-1/4 inches deep. There is likely more space in front of the radiator than behind it. A fan such as # D18217 is 17 inches in diameter and 2-5/8 inches deep. You would need to measure the available space to determine if this fan will fit or if you need to go smaller...

  • What is the Advantage to Switching to a Derale Thermostat Fan Control on a 2006 Polaris Sportsman
A stock thermostat that is similar to the Derale Premium, Single-Stage Thermostat, # D16735, might have different temperature settings. This one kicks on at 180 degrees and turns off at 165 degrees. This will help to save power. The 40/60-amp relay harness is probably more heavy duty than the stock one and it has probe options (thread-in and push-in options). Of course the thermostat kit is only as good as the fan you are using. The fan may have been replaced as well and if so that is normally...

  • Will an Engine Oil Cooler Help Bring Down Engine Temperature on a 1970 Plymouth Cuda
The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler, # D15604, that you mentioned would be a good addition to help cool the engine oil in your 1970 Cuda. An oil cooler like # D15604 should provide you with a drop in your water temperatures. Most likely it would be a drop between 10-20 degrees but it really depends on the vehicle and how much airflow the cooler gets. I would recommend checking the specifications for cooling your specific 5.7 liter Hemi engine and going with the manufacturer recommendation...

  • Electric Fan Recommendation for 1992 Chevy C-1500 5.7L V8 engine
The issue is your engine is not getting enough air most likely due to the location of the transmission cooler. The best location to place that transmission cooler is in front of the radiator, but when you aren't moving very fast it is still not going to move any more air, so a fan is your best option to prevent overheating. You have a couple of options. The first option is to add an electric radiator fan to the truck to move more air as needed. I'd add the biggest fan you can fit,...

The fans that you have referenced, # D16927, and # D16919 are for puller applications only. What I recommend is going with the most CFM that you can in a fan or fans that will fit in the space provided. You do not always have to remove the factory set up in order to install an electric fan. You just have to make sure that the aftermarket fan is...

  • Transmission Cooler and Fan Recommendation for a 2010 Nissan Titan SE Towing Travel Trailer
A supplemental transmission cooler would absolutely help keep your transmission fluid temperatures down on your 2010 Nissan Titan. Since the heat issue you described is when you are backing your trailer up your best option would be a cooler with a fan since there would be limited air flow while in reverse at slow speeds. Another great thing about the coolers with fans is that you can basically mount them wherever you want since the fan provides all the airflow needed. For that I would...
