Today, we are going to be taking a look at the super winch s5500 winch. Part number SW1455200. The s5500 trailer winch is the ideal solution for getting your wheel equipment like, your ATV or UTV or in this case our golf cart onto our trailer. It has an aluminum free-spool clutch lever that allows us to pull the cable out freely to help save our wear and tear on our winch engine and our power source. When free-spooling it up it has a hand savor strap which when used in conjunction to gloves can really save your hands from getting damaged. The hook itself is made out of a heavy gauged steel, while the cable is 60 foot long and made out of a heavy construction braided steel. The spool is protected by removable dust cover to help keep out debris and any other elements.
It features a 30 foot remote with an in and out rocker switch so it can stand at a safe distance and easily load up our wheeled equipment. It features a roller haul spare lead which is going to help protect your cable and reduce friction when your pulling up your wheeled equipment on to your trailer. It has a 3.6 horsepower permanent magnet sealed motor with a three stage gear box giving it rated line pull of 5500 pounds. It comes with all the wiring you need to get it hooked up to your power source. Its dimensions are about 19 inches long, 5 3/4 wide, and 5 3/4 tall. It also features a limited lifetime warranty. Now we're just about ready to start winching it up.
Now its always good to be safe, make sure either your trailer is hooked up to your vehicle, and that you keep it a safe distance. So lets hook the switch on our freezable clutch, we'll grab our hand saver strap, and pull it out. Were going to bring it down to our shackle, which we've got used in conjunction with our golf cart here today. If you don't have a shackle you can find wide variety of sizes of those at etrailer.com. The one we are using today is part GS06.
So we'll take our hook, well clip it onto the shackle. You'll notice that the gate is going to keep it from sliding off. Lets go ahead and release our clutch lever down, now we're all set. Now lets go ahead and press our in button on our rocker switch and lets start winching it up. Now if you'd like to double the rated pull line of your winch, you could pick up the heavy duty winch pulley block, and that's going to be part number SW7750A. The cable simply goes around the pulley and back to an anchor point allowing it to double the capacity. Now the winch could also be used to help you unload your wheeled equipment, lets go ahead and do that now.
And that is going to complete out look at the Super Winch SW5500, part number SW1455200.

This wench is exactly what I was looking for. It's well built and has plenty of pulling power for my car hauler. I like the idea of having the longer remote and the battery cables are the perfect length for either battery on the ground or attached battery box. The bolt on pattern worked out perfect for my existing mount, easy set up and operations. Absolutely love it. Definitely exceeded my expectations! Not only is the wench great but everything else was too, great customer service, great selection and an informative website with product videos. If you are in the market for all things trailers, hands down, E-Trailer is the best. Will be buying more in the future. Thanks much E-Trailer!!

Very happy with my winch, receiver, and connector. I fabricated my own hitch mounted winch and battery tray and appreciate etrailer's wiring diagrams to keep it charged.

I've been dealing with etrailer for a number of years. The service and prices are the best. I just purchased the S5000 Superwinch for my race car trailer to replace the 16 year old Superwinch. WOW! what a difference. Also it fit in the old blot mounting holes. This bad boy is super quiet when compared to the old one and it pulls my car on without any drama. Not cheap but I'd recommend this item to anyone looking for a really good winch with this capacity.

This winch worked great until last week . While pulling a log up a hill it started to slow down and smoke I quit using it till it cooled down and was able to finish the pull ,but the next time I used it it barely moved and seemed like it was slipping inside , I called etrailer and they said to ship it to them and it would be repaired or replaced, I will update this when I get it back , but so far service has been great.

We deal in Pace American, Haulmark, Rance, Liberty and Imperial trailer brands and frequently install winches. We normally use the S5000 Superwinch but it wasn't available so ordered the S5500. Its more powerful but doesn't have the tensioner to keep the spool from spinning freely which causes the cable to bunch up on spool.
Still a good value.

Very impressed with the order process the super wench S5500 is heavy then you might think you will need to order the battery terminal ports red an black for better operation of the unit item #DW05310-1 and item #DW05311-1 but overall very impressed with the purchase.

Extremely happy with my recent purchase of a Superwinch S7500 (synthetic rope). It arrived within a few days and etrailer’s website directed me to a local installer with whom I was also very pleased. Seems well made but I don’t know why they didn’t tap threads in the bottom of the unit instead of the loose nuts that fall out when you try and install. The bolts that came with it were too short for the 3/4” plywood floor in my trailer. So what should have taken 1 hour to install took 3-1/2 hours after I had to go to two hardware stores to find metric bolts that would work with the square nuts supplied. Frustrating. I’ll know more when I use it to pull my car into the trailer.

- Replacement Option for Superwinch S4500 With Bad RemoteIt looks like your S4500 has the plug that is older than the "Old Style" like the # SW48YR replacement remote has. Unfortunately, according to Superwinch there is no replacement option for this remote, and it is not possible to adapt a newer remote so it will work with your winch. - Synthetic Rope Winch for Enclosed Trailer with Drag TruckFor your enclosed trailer the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch part # BDW15020 would be a great option for pulling in your drag truck as it has a 4,400 lb capacity and was designed for this type of application. Or if you wanted something that would work a little faster the ComeUp trailer winch # CU645010 would be a really great option. It has a faster motor with a higher capacity which is what allows it to be faster.

I love this damn thing! Works as advertised and well worth the price. Never hesitates when pulling my race car on to the trailer. Also way quiter than my old Superwinch. The remote control cord is longer too. Great! Id recommend it to anyone. American made quality.
