Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the rear cargo area. You will have to remove the trunk floor coverings, scuff panel, and interior felt liner to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Powered Tail Light Converter with Surface-Mount Technology
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

Pretty easy install , plug and play , if you can change a flat tire you can install this kit , I put it on a 2017 Malibu with ease , way better than one of those universal kits especially on newer vehicles

This was the easiest install I have ever done! No stripping the insulation off to connect the wires to the turn signal wires. You just unplug the factory plugs in the trunk and plug one plug on the wiring harness into the factory receptacle and the other is a male plug that plugs into the female receptacle. The same thing is done on the opposite side of the vehicle. The other thing You have to do is connect a power wire to the hot side of the battery with a fuse that comes with the kit but take the fuse out of the harness till You have all the wires ran and the last thing You do is put the fuse in the holder after everything is connected,and the other end of the wire is fed to the trunk and connects to the black wire on the controller. There is a white wire that gets grounded to the car body. Last thing to do is turn the lights on and with a test light go to the 4 connector plug and and connect one end of the to the single bare pin and test the other female holes to be sure when the lights are on 1 lights up. Then turn the turn signal on and one of the other the other female should flash and lastly put the other turn signal on and test the last plug should flash with the other tail light. At that point I connect to My trailer to be sure everything works. Piece of cake. The time consuming part was running the power from the battery to the trunk. Not really hard just a little time consuming.

Very good service listened to issue haas solution and gave simple instructions on fixing it. Not pleased that had to pay for reshipping but would use again!

I really like this hitch the best because it has a non-visibly cross tube which means it would be more concealed.
