C56387 - Is It Ok To Connect Power Wire To Accessory Outlet Instead Of Directly To Battery?
Question:
2023 Chevrolet Malibu C56387 Wiring I only will be using the trailer a couple times per year. Rather than running the power feed wire to the battery is it OK to connect it to the accessory outlet in the back seat when needed. Most of the time it would be stored in the trunk.

Helpful Expert Reply:
No, you cannot run the power feed wire on the Curt # C56387 to an accessory outlet in the back seat. The hot lead MUST be ran directly to the battery. This is the only way to ensure your car's wiring and electrical systems are not otherwise damaged/affected. I know getting the wire to the battery can be a bit of a hassle, but it needs to be done.
I have linked our install video below if you want to take a look.
