Use this cable lock to secure your gear. Great for locking your bike to your rack. Push the button on the lock assembly to automatically cinch the cable around your gear, eliminating slack. Vinyl-coated braided steel construction. 2 Keys included.

Features:

  • Cable lock secures your gear to your bike rack, roof rack, cargo carrier, and more
  • Automatic cinching lets you tighten the cable snuggly around your gear quickly and easily
    • Insert the cable into the lock assembly and press the red button to tighten the cable
  • Braided steel construction is strong and difficult to cut
  • Vinyl coating prevents the cable from scratching your equipment and provides corrosion resistance
  • 2 Keys are included

Specs:

  • Cable dimensions: 3/8" diameter x 6' long
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This cable lock not only helps prevent theft of your gear, but it also cinches tightly around your gear to help keep it immobilized during transport. The lock assembly lets you adjust the cable to your desired length, pull it tight, and secure it in place - similar to how a buckle works on a tie-down strap. Simply thread the cable through the lock assembly and press the red button to quickly and easily cinch the cable around your bike, cargo, sports equipment, or other gear. Then insert the loose end of the cable into the port on the lock assembly to secure the cable. When you're ready to unload your gear, just use one of the 2 included keys to unlock the cable from the port, and then release the tension on the cable by pressing the red button.

We are very happy with the Yakima Ridgeback2, along with the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter for my wife's Step-Thru and the Curt Adjustable Cable Lock for unattended safety. Ease of attachment to our vehicle takes approximately 3 minutes. Very solid choice of purchase. Excellent service from etrailer for ordering and immediate shipping and delivery.

by:

This cable lock is great to secure two bikes to our hitch rack. Super easy to use and flexible in that it can be used in multiple configurations.

by:

The lock itself has worked great. But the keys not so much. The grip for the keys is made of cheap plastic. After the first week of owning the lock, the plastic grip on key broke. I wasn't too worried because I had a second key. But it is a year later and now the second key broke. I can still open the lock. But the broken grip makes it harder and I am unable to attach the key to a key ring.

  • Is there a Locking Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for Curt Platform Bike Racks
Curt bike rack 18086 does not have a locking anti-rattle hitch bolt option. What we recommend is to use the regular hitch bolt and then use a cable lock, # C23666, to secure the bikes and rack to the hitch by running the cable through the hitch safety chain loops. I have linked a video review of this cable lock for you.

  • Installing the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack
The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # C18085 is a fairly easy install. To install it, you'll simply insert it into the receiver, then secure it with the included anti-rattle bolt using the included tool. I do recommend getting a full sized ratchet though, as it will install the bolt much faster than the included tool. I've attached a video review of this rack, and at about the 3:20 mark, you can watch one of our reviewers putting the rack onto the vehicle so you can get familiar with...

  • Best Way To Secure a Spare Tire Mounted On The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125
The best way to secure a spare tire on the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 is by using a cable lock. The Curt Adjustable Cable Lock # C23666 will allow you to run the cable through your wheel and down to the receiver to secure it to your vehicle. This work best as the upright is bolted and the lug nuts are only threaded. The cable will ensure the spare wheel and tire are locked to structure on the back of your vehicle. Depending on your tow vehicle you can use the chain hooks...

  • Distance Between Arms of Curt 4-Bike Rack 18064
I can confirm for you that the distance between the arms of the Curt Premium 4-Bike Rack # C18064 is 14 inches at the wide end and 8 inches at the narrow end. You can also see this at roughly the 2:10 mark of the linked video review I added for you to check out. Keep in mind if you do plan on carrying any children's or alternative-frame bikes (with a step-through frame, for example) you will need Curt Bike Frame Adapter Bar # C18016 to give those bikes a horizontal mounting point. Additionally...

  • What Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack Do You Recommend for My 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?
I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with all of our manufacturers that there are currently no trunk-mounted bike racks that have been fitted on your 2021 Toyota Corolla Lunar Sport Hybrid Hatchback that can fit 2 bikes. However, with this being said, a hitch-mounted bike rack is a great alternative. A hitch-mounted rack is great because it allows for you to carry bikes with a greater weight capacity more securely. In addition, a hitch-mounted racks have more secure...

  • Will a Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style hold a 650bx3 or 27.5x3 wheel size bike?
If your tires measure 3-1/2 inches wide or less, then the Swageman XC 2-Bike Platform Bike Rack, # S64650, will work with your bikes. The Swagman can carry up two bikes and and has a weight capacity of 70lbs ( 35lbs per bike). This bike rack is a frame mount bike rack the uses telescoping hooks to mount your bikes to the rack. If you have special frame bikes, like carbon fiber, then you will want to look at wheel mount bike racks. I recommend the Curt # C18085, for a wheel mount bike...

  • Recommended Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver and Lock Compatible With Curt Bike Rack
The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 comes with the threaded anti-rattle hitch pin, but it does not have a locking option for that rack. There isn't a locking hitch that fits that pin, so I recommend using a cable lock like # CAB-10 or # C23666 and running the cable through the safety chain loops of the hitch to secure the bikes and the rack.

  • Recommended Lock For Curt Bike Rack & Hitch
Manufacturers of hitch accessories such as bike rack and cargo carriers make the threaded bolts and weldnuts in the accessories uniquely threaded so that you cannot use other manufacturer's products. For example the Swagman lock # S64027 will not fit the Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # C18064. To lock the bike rack to the hitch I recommend using Curt Adjustable Cable Lock # C23666. You would just need to route the cable through the bike rack and then through the safety chain...

We offer Curt Adjustable 6-Foot Cable Lock # C23666 for use with your hitch bike rack # C18030 but really any cable lock will serve to secure your bikes to the rack and even secure the rack to your hitch. The cable lock # e98891, which is 10-feet, should provide enough length to allow you to route it through each of the bikes, and also through the small ring on the upright tube. You can then secure the rack and bikes to the hitch with the one cable lock. If you prefer you can certainly...

  • Parts Needed to Install Curt Bike Rack on a 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback
The most essential thing you will need to carry the Curt bike rack part # C18085 on your 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback is a trailer hitch. Which the Curt Class 1 Hitch # C11348 is a confirmed fit and would work well for this. For locking hand knobs for the rack you would want the part # C18090. For a cable lock to lock the rack to your hitch you would want the part # C23666.

  • Recommended Hitch-Mounted 2 Bike Rack for 2017 Toyota RAV4
For a hitch-mounted bike rack to transport your two bikes with your 2017 Toyota RAV4, I recommend looking at the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683. This is a great bike rack that has a similar platform-design to the Swagman # S64650 referenced in your question but with a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike. This particular rack has a few really nice features, such as its ability to tilt down with the bikes still loaded for easy rear cargo access and the included, built-in...

  • Using a Stabilizer Strap with a 2017 Mini Clubman 2 Door Hatch
Curt does require use of a stabilization strap for their Class I Hitches. Normally, you'd use a Stabilizing Strap like part # 18050 but like many hatchback vehicles, you're running into a simple problem that is easy to fix. For this, you'll want to purchase part # Y02612 , a set of Yakima Glass Hatch adapters. The Curt Premium 3 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Tilting # C18063 will fit that receiver well and comes with an anti-wobble hitch pin that is threaded to perfectly fit your receiver and bike rack. • Best 2-Inch Bike Rack without Adapter Sleeve
I actually have a REALLY good option for your bikes, but first I'll explain why the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR was not ideal for other users. The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR is a very popular bike rack that has been enjoyed by A LOT of people even with 2-inch hitches. What might be causing extra sway is that an anti-rattle bolt takes away the side-to-side motion, but not as much of the up-and-down motion. This combined with a possibly loose hitch sleeve adapter would cause...

  • Recommended Hitch and 5 Bike Rack for 2015 Jeep JKU Wrangler
As a fellow Jeep JKU owner, I know the perfect solution for you. For a hitch I recommend using the etrailer # e98856 because it has an elongated receiver tube that will help extend your bike rack out past the spare tire on your 2015 Jeep JKU. Curt's 2 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes # C18085-FB includes an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin that will reduce motion of the rack in your hitch but this feature prevents use of a standard hitch lock. No worries though since you can use a simple cable lock such as # e98891 (10-foot) or # C23666 (6-foot) to both lock your bikes to the rack and also to lock the rack to your hitch receiver by running the cable through a safety chain loop on your hitch.
