Specs:
Bolster brackets are typically mounted upright on a boat trailer's crossmembers. When used with a swivel bracket (sold separately), they allow a mounted bunk board, which is run from the front of the trailer to the back, to pivot while you are loading a boat. On kayak trailers, these brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame and support bunk boards that run across the trailer.
Galvanized Steel
Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 15 inch tall Galvanized Steel Double U-Bolt Bolster Bracket. Now, this bolster bracket will let you attach a swivel bracket for mounting a bunk board to your boat trailer. The swivel bracket will attach right up here. Now, that bracket we do sell separately on our website. The mounting hole up here for that swivel bracket is a half inch diameter.
Now, it does require two brackets like this per bunk board, and these bolster brackets are typically mounted upright on a boat trailer's crossmembers. Just wanna pop up an insert to show you a couple of those installed onto the boat trailer. Now, when used with the swivel bracket at the top, they'll allow a mounted bunk board, which is run from front of the trailer to the back to pivot while you're loading a boat. And as you can see, this bracket here will attach with two U-bolts as opposed to a standard bracket that attaches with one U-bolt, the U-bolts, again, we do sell separately on our website, that'll give you an extra sturdy connection to the trailer frame to ensure support for that bunk board. The mounting slots right down here, they'll permit as much as a three inch of height adjustment during installation, and the bracket we mentioned installs vertically on your boat's trailer's frame.
The mounting slot dimensions, if we take a ruler to them, the width of them is gonna be right at a half an inch, the length of each slot is three inches tall, and the spacing between the slots, if we measure center to center, is right at 1 3/4 inches. Now, this is a 7-Gauge galvanized steel, helps resist rust and corrosion. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products like this to provide years of use without rusting or corroding, so it is suitable for saltwater exposure. This part is made in the USA. Again, it is for a quantity of one bracket.
Overall height is 15 inches tall, overall width outside to outside is four inches wide. But that should do it for the review on the CE Smith 15 inch tall Galvanized Steel Double U-Bolt Bolster Bracket..

This rust-resistant bolster bracket attaches to your boat trailer's frame with 2 U-bolts (sold separately) to ensure a sturdy connection to the trailer. Slotted mounting holes allow for height adjustment. Swivel bracket sold separately.I had to modify our boat lift for a new, larger boat. This required raising the front of the bunks and moving them farther apart.
The previous brackets tended to angle outward due to the dead rise in the bow. Pictures show how I added a welded support to prevent this. So I ordered these double U bolt supports to prevent this problem. They work great. And I lucked out. I thought I'd have to shorten these brackets, but they gave me the exact height, and even rest on the lift's structure for better support.
Great Customer Service. Quality products that always meet my expectations.
Thank You!
Best damn people ever...... really smart too
There was a bit of a delay in receiving these because of a back order issue, the wait was well worth it. These bolster brackets are 1/4" galvanized steel and I'm convinced they could support a Sherman Tank. If you want to do it right, I would highly recommend this product - including the bunk brackets.
I needed these to support my boat lift frame on my boathouse. They are much heavier than I thought they would be, so I'm sure they will work fine. Even got a quick delivery time considering all the delays due to the Corona virus.
Heavy duty. Just as described.
