Speaker: Today, we're going to take a look at our replacement hitch pin for Yakima Hanging-Style Bike Racks. This is going to be that all-important hitch pin for your bike rack. This is going to be what actually secures your bike rack to the hitch. It's going to slide into that hitch pin hole, and it has a retaining ball on the one side to keep tension on that and keep your bike rack in place. We'll also have the cable on the other side with the rivet to keep that in place on your bike rack itself so that this doesn't get lost, but things could happen and maybe the retaining clip broke, cable broke, something happened, you need a new one.This is going to work for several different bike models. It's going to work for the Double Down Ace, the highlight, the light rider, and the ridge back.
There are several different part numbers that correspond to those bike racks, so definitely check out etrailer.com, and you should have the part numbers there in the description for this. Again, this is going to come with our one hitch pin and that plastic retaining clip and the cable. We also have a lot of other replacement parts available here at etrailer.com. Looks like an exact match for the part on my bike rack so I'm happy. The old wire got a crimp in it and looked like it would fall apart, so I'm glad I can keep things together and looking new with this exact replacement part.

2nd time I've used etrailer for replacement parts for my Yakima bike rack. Very response. Both times it took awhile for etrailer to get the parts, but they contacted me about the delay and eventually got the parts to me. No other company seemed to have the parts so I think most of the parts delay problem has to do with Yakima. I recommend etrailer. It's a company that's easy to do business with.

This OEM replacement safety hitch pin worked flawlessly for me and my family! As the last line of defense between our bicycles arriving safely and being splayed all over the interstate I cannot sing praises high enough for this little hero. It's gold anodized finish, capped off with a stunning red, er, cap, really draws the attention of adorning fans. I'm extremely happy with this hitch pin and cannot recommend it highly enough.

I bought a 2nd hand Yakima HighLite 2 Silver and realized I was missing some components when buying. I was able to knock down the price significantly and "hoped" that I could get the missing parts from Yakima. Turns out I had way MORE selection of parts and at a cheaper price with etrailer.com. I got 2 Yakima replacement keys for the Yakima Core that came with it - luckily it was unlocked so I was able to pull out the core and know/read the right Yakima SKS Key number order. Also got the adapter sleeve to mount it to a 2" trailer. Also got the locking pin. Now I have a 100% OEM Yakima HighLite 2 Silver Bike Rack - just the way I like it! Thank you etrailer.com!!!!

Excellent customer service, and the part came quickly. I bought my bike carrier used, so unsure how the original pin fit. This one holds the receiver and carrier but I feel it still hangs a little loose. I was happy to be able to find the replacement part so easily on etrailer.

There's nothing wrong with the quality of this product, but shame on Yakima for using a component that so obviously has a limited life span. The rest of the trailer universe uses a hitch pin that goes all the way through the hitch and I'd secured with cotter pin, while this product is almost designed to fall off.

Product was good once it arrived. However, the site showed all items in stock. I received an email about a month after I ordered, stating they were on back order. I responded stating that it showed in stock and that I would have purchased through another site had I known this. I got a seemingly automated email back that I took as a "sorry not sorry". I received the order over two months later. Terrible customer service. First time I have shopped with etrailer, and obviously my last.

I still use the Yakima bike rack. It went from MA to FL and back this winter. I wouldn’t go anywhere other than etrailer.com for replacement parts.
