Video Transcript for Review of Ventline Replacement Screen Frame for Roof Vent - BVC0515-05

Hello neighbors, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a replacement screen frame for your Ventline Veneer trailer roof vent. Now if you're not familiar, this is what one of those guys looks like. And as far as where this screen frame gets installed, I'll throw an image up there as well. It's pretty self-explanatory. If you have one of these, you kind of know already what it looks like, where it goes, that kind of stuff.

But this does replace one screen frame. It is a one piece. They've already got the screen pressed into place and everything from the manufacturer. You got the little hole here where your red button comes on or through rather, to turn on and off. And you got the two holes here to mount it in place.

It's a polar white color and it works with Ventline Veneer Roof Vent model VP- 543. It's made here in the US. And as far as some dimensions, overall, I was getting 6 inches side to side. And as far as those holes, I was getting 4 and a quarter inches on center. There we go.

So again, folks, just your basic replacement screen frame again for your avail Ventline Veneer trailer roof vent. I'm Steven. Thanks so much for watching folks. Have a great day.

My old screen frame was a little dirty. With this new one, I see that the exhaust fan is doing its job much better. It was very easy to change.

by:

It was a perfect replacement for a screen that had completely disintegrated as though it had been dipped in acid. The best part was that these replacement pieces were available at all! It saved me a lot of time and expense not having to retrofit the fan with some other option. THANKS!

Still works great!

I found etrailer on an Airstream forum. I was hesitant to use yet another website and share my credit card info, but etrailer was secure and the product was delivered quickly, about 4-5 days, for [$]. We thought we should replace our RV bathroom vents, then realized they only needed new switches and replacement screens.
So glad etrailer had the replacement screens.
Thank you!

Still withstanding the hot Texas heat!

We just recently purchased a used Born Free in need of some repairs and updates ... one of the items that needed attention right away was the inoperative bathroom fan. I purchased and installed VP-543SP unit and decided to order this spare screen at the same time. The service from eTrailer.com was prompt and courteous - I can only hope that all of my repair projects go this smoothly!

by:

This worked replaced the old entirely plastic screen in my '88 Airstream Excella and is a definite improvement. The old twist switch must be removed in order to install the replacement screen, but it's a good chance to update the switch anyway.

by:

Excellent service, efficient and fast, mailed the same day. Unfortunately, the political hacks in Washington are sabotaging the USPS and after three days the package arrived in New Orleans and SAT FOR SEVEN DAYS before finally being delivered. Etrailer is not at fault, their service is very good.

by:

Perfect replacement vent screen, good price, and fast shipping. Great transaction. Thanks.

by:

I just received my order , and I have to say. Perfect, yes perfect in so many ways. First , you were very helpful in placing my order. Helping me find what I was looking for. Then you had everything I needed to fix my problem. And at a very reasonable price. I thought it was going to be a joke when you said I should receive. It was no joke. I have it all in my hands. I can not thank you enough.

by:

The screen in my Airstream's bathroom fan ripped and this replacement was a perfect fit. It was very easy to install. It was also cheaper than ordering the part through the RV dealership.

by:

by:

  • How to Replace the Screen on Ventline Vanair Trailer Vent # VP-543SP
You can replace the screen on Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent, # VP-543SP, in a few easy steps. Make sure that the screws that hold on the handle are exposed. Remove them and then the handle. Next unscrew the small black piece that holds the switch to the screen assembly. Then remove the 2 screws holding on the screen and pull out the screen. Reverse the process to put in the new screen. I made a video that shows how to do this.

  • Accessing the Screws on Ventline Round Vent to Replace the Handle
I believe that the only way to go about this, if you cannot get a tool in that space, is to do exactly like you said and go in from the outside. If you do not have the handle pulled all the way down, that could be the problem as well. I would assume that in the process of working on the vent you have pushed, pulled, and turned things but it doesn't hurt just to check to see if it could move down any more.

We have the Replacement Push-Button Switch # BV0199-03 that fits with the hole in the Replacement Screen Frame # BVC0515-05. The Replacement Fan Blade # BVD0217-00 works with the 1-1/2" long Replacement 12V DC Motor # BVD0218-00. You will need to ensure you have the 1-1/2" long motor as the fan blade that fits the original 2" motor is obsolete. If you have the 2" motor both the blades and fan motors will need to be updated.

  • Directing Airflow and Insect Screen for Ventline Vanair Roof Vent VP-543SP
Your Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vents # VP-543SP are designed out of the box to work as an exhaust fan. We have actually worked with this unit in the past though and found that if you switch the black and white wires during installation it will work to pull air in. Other than modifying one of your assemblies in this manner so that it can bring air in instead of out, there aren't any add-ons or recommended modifications to further direct air flow. This particular unit actually includes...

  • How to Remove Rotary Switch from Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent
The switch design for the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent part # VP-543SP has since changed from the rotary style you have to the push button design referenced in the video. I called and spoke with an engineering contact at the Ventline division of Dexter Axle and they informed me that in order to remove the switch you need to trace the two wires up and remove them at the source rather than the switch. There is one wire that goes to the motor and the other goes to the rv's power circuit....
