Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Thule replacement U-bolt. This is going to replace one U-Bolt for your Thule hitch-mounted bike rack ski-carrier adapter. This is going to fit around the mast of the hitch-mounted bike rack to add stability to the ski carrier. Because this is a direct replacement from Thule for that ski carrier-adapter that you see on the screen there, you can trust this is going to fit right in place of the original U-bolt. No worries about compatibility issues or anything like that, but just to give you a little extra reassurance, you can see our overall width is about three inches there.
And our overall length, we're looking at just shy of four inches. We'll call it 3 7/8 of an inch. So if you are needing to replace one of those U-bolts for your Thule hitch-mounted bike rack ski-carrier adapter this is gonna be exactly what you need. That completes our look for today. The U-bolt secures in place with spacers and hand knobs (sold separately).I have a different bike rack but this fit fine and worked as expected. I purchased the Thule 987xt based on the use of this attachment as it add a great deal of support that the newer ski adapter racks lack. They rely on the bike holsters and rubber straps that I felt was not going to be as sturdy as I wanted for security and peace of mind.
Great product. I was afraid I might not be able to find the replacement U-bolt of my snowboard carrier. I was ecstatic to find it here at etrailer.
All the items in the order fit my bike / ski hitch rack perfectly.
