While this is a perfect replacement for the thule piece I had that rusted out ( after about 10 years) . I've found that this one has started to rust out in just a year.
It is the ONLY replacement I've found, and at a great price, so it works great.
If need be , I'll be buying all new ones next year.
( as you can see the other parts are rusting as well,,, but same goes.. only replacement I could find.. so I'll buy those in a year also )

My previous U Bolt / Round Nut combination had rusted after nearly 10 years that it was not possible to remove and had to end up cutting it to remove off of my roof rack. This replacement U-Bot is just like the previous and fit perfectly. I am proud to report that this is my first time having to replace a part on a Thule Bike Rack in nearly ten years and my other Thule products are functioning just fine.

These appear to be the same parts for my very old Thule kayak saddle rack model 1050-40. I have been using this system since the 90's and except for some rusted bolts, it has been my goto kayak rack. I am glad that etrailer still has some parts to help to keep it going.
