Today on our camper we'll be taking a look at and installing the Soft Touch assist handle, black with black grip, part number AH-150. It's also available in white, part number AH-100. Step into luxury with the Soft Touch assist handle, what a beaut. The comfort molded finger grips provide stability and safety as you climb in your coach. It's made out of a black, poly carbonate construction with a black rubber grip and the whole thing measures eighteen and a half inches tall. The rubber grip itself measures about eleven and a half inches and has a eleven molded finger grooves. To get our new soft assist handle installed, we'll need to go ahead and remove our old one.
As you can see, it's all worn out and it's not very solid. I'll grab my Phillips head and we'll go ahead and take the screws out. We won't be using the same holes so I'm going to go ahead and clean them up and then caulk them. We do sell caulk here at etrailer.com, and that's going to be part number 0160297. Now, I'll grab my new handle and I'm just going to center it up with my door handle here.
Also, you'll notice that the mounting holes are slightly off center. I'm going to make sure that those are all the way to the right. I'll take my drill and I'm just going to mark each of my holes. Then, we can just remove the handle and finish drilling those out. Now, you want to be sure and use a smaller drill bit than your hardware. Now we can replace our handle and run our new hardware through.
Perfect and that's going to complete our look with the Stromberg Carlson Soft Touch assist handle, black with black grip, part number AH-150.

Excellent handle! Sure grip is provided by the rubber. The mounting holes are offset to insure you screw directly into a stud on your RV. Follow directions carefully and be sure you place the handle screw holes are as close to the RV entrance door as possible. Screws are plenty long and appear galvanized.

Still working as new
Good solid large handle to support your weight while stepping up or down your trailer steps. Would buy again if needed .
Great handle. I installed it inside my camper by the door where there was nothing to hold on to when exiting. The 2 bike rack that goes around the spare tire is Great, and very easy to install. Very well made.
