Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Stromberg Carlson replacement rung rubber tread. This is going to replace the rubber tread on one rung of your Stromberg Carlson RV ladder. This will fit with the Stromberg Carlsen exterior RV ladder, and the Stromberg Carlsen RV bunk ladders that you see on the screen there. You can find 'em usin' those part numbers that are also on the screen. But just to give you a little extra reassurance that this is gonna work for you.
You can see this is about 9.5 inches long, by about 2 1/4 of an inch wide. So this will just wrap around your rung, fit right in place, and then provide that textured finish there, that ribbing to make sure that you've got some traction as you're going up and down the ladder. This rubber tread added to the RV bunk ladder helps soften the discomfort on my bare feet. I gave it 3 stars because only one of the 4 fit completely, no matter how much I worked it. But they are tight enough they won't easily come off. I'd like to see them make the tread to expand the width of the 2" step to a 3" step. That would be really helpful.

These rubber pads are a new addition to the ladder for the cab-over bunk. Until now, we've just suffered with the bare metal steps...I was looking for a solution that would soften the pressure on the bare feet. And these fit the bill nicely, with the added benefit of adding some extra non-slip characteristics.

If the rungs of your ladder don't match the dimensions this pad was designed to fit you might be able to modify the pads by trimming the corners off and using an adhesive to secure the pad to the top of the rungs.

As you can see from the picture that I have attached, the rubber tread is cut on the back and will slip over the rung just as you suggested. As for a 1 inch thick replacement tread, the only replacement tread that we have available for the Stromberg ladders is part # 8538-T which measures 3/4 inch thick.
