Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at an Optronics right angle, three wire pig tail. Now, this plug connects a trailer light to your trailer's wiring system. It's a three wire design, which provides power and ground functions. You have the right angle PL-3 plug on this end, and then we have the weather tight plug on this end. The right angle design reduces the amount of stress placed on the connection points, and simply just works better for some applications. The wiring between the connector heads measures around 10 inches long.
Overall it's a really nice design. This end is, again, the weather tight connection, so we have the raised portion here, which clicks into the connection point on the mating connector, prevents accidental disconnecting. Also, this type of connection does a great job at keeping out dirt, grime, and moisture. If your trailer is equipped with the weather tight plug wiring, then this is definitely something to consider. If you need the PL-3 plug, and if you're looking for a right angle design.

Great customer service and follow up from Geoffrey at etrailer.com. My Transcraft step deck trailer came with a plug type that makes it hard to find replacement lights that work with the connection. I’m not a big fan of cutting and splicing a factory harness, but wanted to retrofit my trailer to accept commonly found lights. After contacting several companies (both local and online) that weren’t interested in ordering the pigtail I needed, I got in contact with Geoffrey. He didn’t have the part listed as a for sale option in his system, but worked with the manufacturer to create a part number and get them in stock for me.
I received them today and they are exactly what I needed. Thanks again Geoffrey!

- Female Connector that Matches PL-3 Connector # A45PMBYes, we have the part # AL145PWTB which has the correct female connector to match the part # A45PMB. The extra 3 pin connector on this could be cut off and not used as needed.
