Hi there neighbors. Today we're going to be taking a look at Optronic's three wire pigtail to straight plug for Optronics trailer lights. Here you can see one end of our adapter, which allows us to go from our standard three wire pigtail over to our straight three wire pigtail for our Optronics lights. It's a nice easy installation because you just plug it into your factory trailer wiring. And then it adapts it for our other end here on our light.Our straight end has an upgraded connector over your traditional three wire pigtail. The big upgrade here is the weather pack that you see around it.
Your standard three wire pigtails don't have any type of weather packing. You can just use some dielectric grease to help protect it from the elements, but eventually corrosion is going to likely build up on this style of connector.With the weather packing, it keeps out any moisture from entering inside the connector. Optronic's lights typically come with grease packed in them already, so with the weather packing that's on our connector here, the likelihood of corrosion ever occurring on this light is reduced. It's going to adapt and provide all of your standard functions, so you'll have your ground wire, your taillight circuit, as well as your stop and turn circuit. Our harness adapter is going to measure 8-1/17 inches long, so it's going to extend it a little bit to make it easier to get your lights installed.You can see here our factory taillights barely come out of our connector, which can make it a little harder to get our light out if we need to get in here and clean it up or perform any service on the other wiring that's located behind it.
Now that we've used our harness to make a quick easy connection to our Optronics light, we can simply poke our wiring in, push our light into the grommet, and then any of our excess wiring here, we can use some zip ties to tie it up, keep it nice and neat.If you need some zip ties, you can pick some up here at etrailer.com. You can see here that it provides all of your necessary lighting for your taillight circuit. You've got your taillights, your brake lights, and your right and left turn signals. The harness comes as a quantity of one, so if you need one for the other side, you'll need to pick up two. Remember to get these with the tail lights if you are replacing old system lights. The plug make wiring much simpler and the connection water proof. The lights that these fit work very well and look great!

I was very happy to see they made this plug, versus having to do some homemade connections with my heat shrink tape and connectors, hoping for the best. This wiring harness pigtail not only is completely waterproof on the weather end, but is the high quality rubber & plastic you would expect to find on a brand new vehicle. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.
