Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this TecNiq LED trailer taillight. This is a low-profile Department of Transportation compliant trailer taillight that's gonna provide four functions for you. And if I turn off my lights here and turn it on, you can see we've got our taillights or our running lights. We're also going to have our turn signal lights and our brake or stoplight. And then our fourth function, we're gonna have the built-in backup light.

So that's gonna eliminate the need to cut holes in your trailer for a second light. So it is going to be a very convenient option for you here reducing how many holes you'll need in your trailer. This does have a polycarbonate lens and housing so it is going to be submersible. It's sonically sealed, so you're not gonna have to worry about water getting in there causing any issues. It is waterproof.

We do have a red lens with eight red LEDs for your taillight, and then the clear lens in two white LEDs for your backup light. If you're not familiar, LEDs are a great replacement for your traditional incandescent lights. They are gonna last about 50 times longer. There's no bulbs to replace or brittle filament in there like with your incandescent lights so it is going to last much longer for you. This comes with a lifetime warranty on the LEDs and then they're also gonna be more efficient so they provide brighter light with less power output.

So overall, a great option to upgrade for your trailer lights. This does accept the amp style plugs. Those are sold separately, but you can see we've got the three-prong plug here for your stop, turn, and ground. And then you've got your power and ground for your backup lights over here. So make sure you're gonna have the plugs for that.

This can be mounted either horizontally or vertically depending on your needs. It will be a recessed mount with the built-in flange here. The mounting hardware is not included, so you will have to provide that yourself. But just to give you some idea of our dimensions, you can see our light itself without that flange, we're looking at approximately 6-3/8 of an inch by about 2-1/8 of an inch. With the flange, our overall is gonna be right at 8 inches by 3-1/4 of an inch. We do have the two mounting holes on either end there. The distance between those two holes center to center, we're sitting right at 7-1/4 of an inch. So if you are looking for a great LED replacement for say a boat trailer taillight or something along those lines, this is gonna be a great option for you. And that completes our look for today.
