Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a black foam gasket for MCL13 series LED lights.This is what your gasket looks like. It's going to go that extra mile to ensure a watertight seal. It's also going to give a nice foamy soft surface to put in between your light and whatever surface you may be mounting it on. The gasket will also work well if you don't have a perfectly flat surface like we have on this bracket here. A gasket can actually help fill that void when you put your light on it, as you can see there.Now I'll show you how easy it is to install our gasket. You run your wires through the center hole and then through the mounting hole.
If you're using it with a gasket and a chrome bezel, you simply put the chrome bezel over both of them, and run your wires through.Now using your existing hardware, or even some new hardware you pick up from your local store, we're going to secure our light to the trailer.That will finish up our look and install of the black foam gasket for MCL13 series LED lights.

When my clearance light quit I ordered the Optronics MCL13A2B light, the MCL13C2B chrome ring, and the MCL13G2B gasket. So this review is actually of all three products.
I wanted to make a watertight installation and actually wasn't exactly sure how to best accomplish that. So here is what I did.
1. I place the gasket on the chrome ring.
2. I ran a bead of silicone around the gasket edge inside the chrome ring.
3. I placed the LED light into the chrome ring. My objective is to create a sealed light assembly.
4. I then backed the chrome ring with butyl tape and mounted it on the trailer.
The light is sealed from the back by the butyl tape and the silicone plus the gasket keeps the water from entering from the front.
I've ordered clear caulk which I will apply on the top half of the light to further seal out water.
The price I feel Etrailer can do better. Not sure if there should be a note when using the gasket it might interfere with the ground that is built into the light.
The light and associated parts were just as described and work great. The LED's are very noticeable. Thanks e-trailer.

Still working after a year. Very pleased with product
I bought red and amber LED marker lights and replaced all of the old corroded ones on my boat trailer. It didn't take long and they work great!

I’ve used this for about 9 months on an off-road adventure trailer, and it’s held up great. I like the design, they’re easy to install and the plastic lenses snap in snugly. I also like that they’re low profile and don’t stick out much at all. Great product.
Have used these gaskets on both marine and utility trailers. They cushion vibration and provide clean edge detail for your lights. Recommend

I would like to have a thicker gasket maybe a rubber one would work better for me because this is my lower marker light and can get a lot of water and snow.

What more can you say? It's a foam gasket for a light! I suppose it is properly cut and will suit my needs for a travel trailer perfectly!
They do what they're supposed to which is keep the insides of the lights dry.

It's a foam gasket as stated. Die cut gasket does work with the LED piece.
How it holds up to the outside elements is anybody's guess.
These foam mounting pads protect the underlying paint and seal up nicely behind the lights.
Seems to fit and will absorb some of the road vibrations.
Nice finishing touch to my LED side mar kers.
