Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement flush mount rubber grommet.So these rubber grommets don't seem like a huge deal, but they do have a purpose. And a lot of times these can be really hard to find by themselves. One of those kind of odd parts that you need but you have a little trouble getting. A lot of times what can happen is these are exposed to the elements and they get baked in the sun, they sit out in the rain, they sit out in the snow, and over time they can just start to get brittle and crack and just kind of fall apart. Well a lot of times they house a light through the grommet, so what happens is that grommet falls out, now your light is in the steel bouncing around potentially getting cracked, and that's what that rubber is there for to keep it secure and in place and absorb some of that vibration.
So as opposed to worrying about your lights breaking or whatever is inside of that grommet, you're not going to have to worry about replacing that whole entire product. You can just simply get these replacement grommets, pop these in, and now you're good to go.And sometimes, too, these don't always act as a replacement, but more or less something that would help you out for whatever it is that you're doing. So for example, what I use rubber grommets for, and a lot of other people, say if you're running your wiring, say if you're drilling some holes through metal on your trailer, you're better off running that wiring through a soft rubber material as opposed to having to just scrape on that sharp metal and potentially damaging it, so that's where these can really come in handy too.Now as far as a couple of measurements go, it's going to be eleven-sixteenths of an inch from inside edge to inside edge here, and it's going to be three-quarters of an inch from the outside edge to the outside edge. So at the end of the day, one of these small pieces that are hard to find but do definitely come in hand whenever you need them.So just to kind of give an example on how it works and how it looks here on our trailer, these just push into the opening that you created. They sit nice and flat and nice and flush and look really good, and in our case we're just going to take a clearance light, just push it in, so that grommet is really good to help hold that secure and keep it protected.

Replaced all the LED lights on my Aluma M10 trailer. Everyone of the lights exact replacements for what was on there. I am a repeat customer because of the Customer Service and quality of items that etrailer.com provides.
They are Grrrreat!!! Perfect replacement for my RV led lights. I used a little vasoline (Pet, technical petrolatum for techies)to lube the grommet and bulb and they slide right into place. No messing with wires.
Cleaned up all my nasty black streaks and now good as new.

Every original grommet (14) on my 2017 motorhome was brittle, broken or cracked in halves. Hopefully these will last more than a few years. They are an exact looking replacement, they need to be warm to be able to stretch over the light bulb. I removed the old grommet, warmed the new ones in hot water, stretched them over bulb and inserted into hole of bezel then carefully pressed bulb into grommet until seated. I had ordered one extra to have for a backup, ended up using it as one grommet was a manufacturing defect (short shot).

Just what I needed for my 2017 Fleetwood Bounder. The factory grommets that held in the led lights around the headlight started to fall apart which lead to the lights falling out the bezel. These grommets went on with ez and hold nice and tight.
Parts worked great.

What more can I say about these grommets that hold the light pods in place? They are necessary if using the round LED lights. My only comment is that I would like to see them made from a softer type of plastic to make it easier to insert into the application because the plastic composition is stiff and not very pliable.
Had to replace this grommet on the 14 LED lights on the front of our 2016 Bounder. They were the exact item and saved us a lot of money. That is because a dealer told me I would have to buy the entire light, that would have been 14 x $13 each. This is the third time I have purchased something from etrailer and every time it has been at a fair price, delivered in a timely manner and been of good quality.
I bought this because it was recommended in the video for installing a brake controller in my Toyota Highlander. I should have looked at the details more closely, because it is way larger than needed for the application. I don't like drilling huge holes in my vehicle's firewall. I think something like the SWC8055 would be more suitable.

They have not began to oxidize yet and hopefully they were made from a superior material than what the Coachman manufacturers installed.
