Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at your replacement rubber straps and cradles for your Hollywood Racks bike racks here at etrailer. Some reasons you might want this kit is maybe you have an older Hollywood Racks bike rack and you just want to upgrade what you currently have, especially if it's been sitting out in the sun or the extreme elements a while. And maybe your rubber is not as elastic and might be a little bit brittle. This is a great to refresh or even upgrade your current setup.
This comes with a cradle, an anti-sway cradle, as well as three straps. Like what we have here, the expedition bike rack for two bikes, you would have to pick up two kids to replace the entire thing. So it's up to you, what you need to replace. Some quick tips that I've learned with working with these bike racks is it's nice to rotate your straps every now and then, especially if you use the one closest to the vehicle a lot. I would use and switch it out with the straps behind, kind of like how you rotate your tires.
It's nice to rotate your straps just to get the most life out of them. Also, another thing is when you are driving around try to have your straps in place, even if there's no bike on there. That way they're not flopping around and you are less likely to lose them or damage them. Here's the comparison of the old strap as well as the new strap, you can see that the old strap, we've had this for a couple of years here at etrailer, and it is still sturdy but it's sort of molded to the shape of the bike it used to hold, while the new one is a lot more elastic. You can feel the elasticity and it's a bit longer at eight and a half inches.
We have some different replacement kits depending on your needs. We have one with just straps. It has six pieces of straps and another one with two of these cradles, as well as some straps. And this one has the anti-sway cradle, the cradle, and the strap. So according to what you need to replace, you can find them here at etrailer.
This is a quick process, and really the only tools that you need are to take off the end cap. But other than that, you just slide these on, slide these off. Please make sure that the bike rack you are installing them on has an inch diameter arm, as well as it does not have any ridges that might come in the way of that arm. If all that is good, then you can install it really quickly. Let's take a look at that process. These cradles fit into an inch diameter arm. Hollywood Racks has two different sizes for the arms: and inch and a quarter as well as an inch. So please double check the size of your bike rack. First, before you get the kit, we have a kit for either size, so you can find that on our website. To replace your cradle, you first need to take it out. And what I did first is I used a Phillips head screwdriver to take off the end cap. And then after that, that just popped off. And then you're gonna have to pop off this cradle. You may need to slide it a little bit, as well as use some soapy water just to make it an easier process. And then you get your replacement cradle and just slide that back into place where the previous one was. And that's it for the install. I'm doing this process on the vehicle, but I highly recommend taking your bike rack off the vehicle so you're not applying any pressure on your car. Your other cradle will slide off and on the exact same way as your replace it. And as for your strap, that just goes right into those knobs on the cradle and can be secured on each end. My final thoughts about this replacement kit is I do like how quick and easy it is to replace everything that I need. We have some different options. If I want just my cradles or just my anti-sway cradles I can find the kit for that but it is a nice idea to replace them as often as you need to because it's not that hard and it keeps your bike safe. And that was a look here at your replacement rubber straps and cradles for your Hollywood Racks bike racks here at etrailer..

Replaces anti-sway cradles and a standard cradle on your Hollywood Racks hanging-style bike rack. Works for Expedition, Express, Road Runner 5, and Traveler 5 bike racks. Designed for racks with 1" diameter arms.Age finally caught up to my Hollywood hitch rack. I found new upgraded parts on etrailer web site. Easy site to use with super quick shipping and great communication at point of sale, shipping and delivery. Can’t wait to use the updated rack! Thanks!!
The new design is far superior to the original equipment. Installation was easy and I am totally satisfied.
These cradles fit our old bike rack and new bikes beautifully. The original cradles would not secure the new bikes that have the wider framing. They are tight on the 1" rack bars but easy to install using a 1 1/2" pvc pipe and hammer, and a little vegetable oil.
I bought this to repair my Saris bike rack (the original rubber cradles were drying out and tearing). While the new kit was a little tight, they are a GREAT replacement! My rack is old, but expensive and excellent except needing these new cradles. I'm VERY happy with this purchase.
This system made securing my eBike on the rack a snap. Easy!!
Very pleased with how quickly I get the products I order from this company! The bike cradles I ordered work perfectly on my bike hitch.
Easy order and quick shipping!
Looks like a good product. Took a little effort (Windex and rubber hammer) to get them on but it was worth it. They hold the bikes in place and do not move on the rail. GLAD I bought them !
Etrailer shipped my item quickly. It arrived in just a few days. The item was exactly as described. This is my second purchase from them and I would not hesitate to order from them again.
Very sturdy and heavy duty upon first impression. They take quite a bit of strength and persuasion to install. Very tight on 1” tube for the item I ordered. Lots of windex and a cheater pipe helped tap them into place. Very nice upgrade to the original hard plastic straps. I can’t wait to put it to use.
I wanted to update a hitch rack with 1” arms. This was a perfect solution. Great quality and fit perfectly. I am very pleased with product and delivery.
Always happy with Etrailer , personal go above and beyond .
Great replacement parts
Have not tried to put them on but they really look sturdy and more heavy duty than the ones that it came with.
